snomONE TAPI TSP

Top System

Recommended Posts

Any news about a snomONE tapi provider working on x86 and x64 ?

It is really a request from the end-user. And competitors are offering this feature with their system.

We know that there is other alternative working directly with the snom Phones like Estos Ecsta Middelware, which is working well.

But it is not really cheap ....

It will be really appreciated if we can have a TSP doing exactly the same but with the pbx directly.

Kind regards,

Régis

P.s: Who is also interested by this feature ?

Hi All,

TAPI is still widely used on windows platform, and it is actually the only generic mechanism to interface windows with any kind of communication device. (PBX, Phones, Modem, ...)

It will not disappears and is still in use in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

The fact is that if Lync Client is installed on a Windows machine, independent of the windows version, the Lync client takes the predominance over TAPI integration.

This why if you use Outlook for example, the call dialog is the one provided by Lync.

Otherwise, if Lync is not installed, the call dialog is still the one provided by TAPI interface, depending of the provider (TSP) installed.

Already worked with the TSP provided for PBXnSIP, but it only works for 32bits PBX installation, and is very limited, only click to dial and Hang On.

What could be very cool is to have a real 64bits TSP that interfaces (encapsulates ) all the possibilities provided by snom One CSTA.

Windows Application --------TAPI --------- snom ONE TSP -------- CSTA ---------- snom ONE

I would really appreciate if we can resurrect this old tapi project !

Best regards,

So when I see that right, we can use the program called "dialer.exe" (this is on my Windows 7 PC with Lync) for testing purposes. The old TSP was using a UDP-based subscription with the PBX to perform its magic, but today it might be a good idea to change that to CSTA (then we dont have to change anything on the PBX). This way we can even encrypt the traffic, which will make it a good choice if the PBX is running in the cloud/hosted.

The SnomOne TAPI-TSP works excellent and reliable (really no 3rd-pty Software is neccessary), BUT handling (at least: signalize) incoming calls is extremely important in order to retrieve CRM Information upon incoming calls.

Any information, if this feature can be expected in near future?

 which application shows incoming TAPI calls? It seems dialer.exe does not...

If you only want to open a browser when a call comes in, there is actually another little helper application available, see http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Csta_Browser.

A VERY good software, using TAPI for incoming call is TAPICALL (www.tapicall.de or www.tapicall.com or look the Youtube-Video below).

It does immediately online reverse-search of public directory as soon as a call is incoming and displays all the callers details before answering the call. Really very nice!

And there are many other software using TAPI to handle incoming calls... but the current SnomOne TAPI-Driver unfortunately doesn't provide support for incoming calls. It would be REALLY important to add this feature!
