Compressed voicemail recordings

Nope. You can use GSM format which is 13.2 kbit/s voice codec and which enjoys a wide device support. MP3 has in addition to its complexity the problem that it is a patent-minefield...

The main problem is a couple of our staff have android devices with no native WAV support, would they have GSM support?

Where would I set this up please?

In either case they have to play back WAV files. http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html has a overview what codecs are supported; seems like the WAV support was added only in 4.1, and only uncompressed. There is a option in pbx.xml that tell the PBX not to compress the attachments, not sure if that would be a solution.
