Thanks for that snom ONE. You are absolutely correct, when I remove the default gateway entry from the LAN statically assigned nic then the sip trunk uses the 'correct' nic connected to the voip broadand router. Another thing that seems to fix the issue is to set a metric value to each of the nics. Using ifmetrics and setting the wan nic card to have a lower metric value than the lan nic also seems to work. Every thing now seems to work as expected and thank you for your help on this snom ONE.

I'm after a bit of help here please. I am setting-up a debian SnomOne system for a customer who has two broadband circuits. One circuit is for his general lan - web, email etc. The second circuit is exclusively for VoIP. The debian server running snomone has two NIC's. eth0 is set as static 192.168.10.10 for his Lan connectivity and eth1 is set as a dhcp client connected to the voip broadband router(it gets a dynamic public ip - no nat here). The problem I'm seeing is that the sip trunk on the snomone is routing through eth0, whereas I really want it to route through eth1. I have had a look at the SnomOne IP Routing List option, but can't see how to specify a routing list where the public ip is dynamic. I suspect this may be a linux routing issue , but I'm not familiar with ip routing on Linux. If any could advise I'd be grateful. Thank you

Thanks for the reply Mr X; is that manual registration or automatic ? I can understand that just about any sip phone can be manually registered to the SnomOne. However I would have liked a list advising those phones that would automatically provision with the SnomOne; perhaps even stating the limitations of the provision (for example - no address book etc). That said, if the SnomOne is still exclusively Snom phone pnp only then I'm fine with that as well.

One of my customers is keen to use Aastra dect phones and I'd like if possible to use the SnomOne as the pbx. I'm sure I've seen a list somewhere showing the phones that are pnp supported by V5 snomone, but I can't find it anywhere. By supported I mean those phones that will auto-provision with the SnomOne. Perhaps I've miss understood the V5 upgrade, but does this now mean that the SnomOne provides all the supported devices that pbxnsip did ? If this list does exist would someone kindly provide this poor old fella with a link ? Thanks

I am about to build a Debian based SnomOne pbx for the office and would like some advice regarding disk partitioning. The Linux server will be dedicated to the SnomOne telephony system and will probably be running the following: SnomOne (approx 10 to 20 extensions) OpenVPN (for remote Snom extensions) TightVNC (for remote support access) A backing-up utility (something like LuckyBackup) Xfce gui (to make support a little easier) The hard drive size is about 150 GB My question. With Debian SnomOne installs is it worth giving the usr or usr/local directory it's own partition; in other words giving the snomOne it's own partition. Or is it generally recommended to rely on the /root partition or even a single partition (plus swap) for a dedicated system like this? Also is LVM partitioning recommended for this type of install ? Interesting regarding 4.5.0.1090 onwards. I've been thinking some more about this and I am considering using the dual wan capability of the adsl router we use to automatically switch incase of a broadband outage. However the public ip issue is still going to be present. In our scenario it's probably not going to be an issue as we will hopefully move over to a super-fast broadband service when it becomes available. However I would have thought if the snomONE could be dynamic public ip aware behind nat (but not stun) then it might be a useful feature especially given that a restart is soon not to be required. But I'm probably the first and last person to think so .

Thanks for the reply Top System, that's interesting. You are absolutely correct a fixed IP is not expensive and I'm pleased Snom have decided against stun. (We are only having this issue because our dedicated voip broadband has been accidentally cancelled and we are sharing the voip with the general data broadband while the circuit is set-up again.) When it was on the dedicated fixed ip broadband the Snom worked without any problem with the IP Routing List set and behind nat (Vigor 2820).

I've got a snomONE behind a NAT router with port forwarding set for the relevant ports. I have also set the IP Routing list on the snomone such that it contains my public ip address. That all work fine without any nat issues until my public ip address gets updated by the isp. I am not asking for STUN, but is there a way in the snomone for it to recognise what the external ip address is whilst keeping NAT ? I suppose I'd like to input something like wxyz.dyndns.org and for the Snom to handle the rest. Thank you.

I would like to hear what Snom's support statement is regarding Counterpath's Bria. Given that the 'softphone world is difficult', maybe it might make sense for Snom to produce a Snom branded version of the Bria and allow it for use on the SnomOne. I've never played with the Bria, but I see they have a VPN option for the iPhone/Pad which for us would help with our firewall security and remote clients.

I actually resolved the issue by editing the xml file snom/cell_include.xml (Go to Web page Control - phone pnp). I can't remember exactly what the problem was, but it was something like value="" should have been value= in the syntax . Find the the line <Name>{lng cell_time_0}</Name> and I think the next line needed to be changed to be as follows: <URL>{ssi link snom/menu.xml &name=cell_time&value=}</URL> Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply snom ONE Yes, it's the cell phone virtual assistant that I'm taking about. The UK audio files are there, in fact to get around the problem I have made a copy of the audio_uk folder and renamed it audio_en. It maybe a bit of an inelegant solution, but it worked.

I am not sure if this is the correct place on the forum to post this so appologies if not. I have set the snomONE such that the language used is English UK and it all works well except for when the Virtual Assistant answers a call. When the virtual assistant answers a call the language presented is USA English and not UK English. Would someone please advise where I can change this setting ? Thanks

Out of interest I thought I'd try-out the Attendant Console, but it also fails to run on my XPPro 32 bit machine. I get the dreaded 'AttendantConsole.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close...'. I'm also running v4 .net client, which I guess got loaded when I tested out the m9 softphone. p.s. I often read Matt's windowspbx blog and it's really interesting, thanks Matt.
