My Linksys SPA942 phones won't register. The log returns 404 NOT FOUND.

From this post: http://forum.pbxnsip.com/index.php?showtopic=660, where does the domain get set in the SPA942 phone?

What else would 404 NOT Found mean?

Hi brundle,

in pbxnsip web-interface

is your domain named: 192.168.32.210 ?

or has it an alias called: 192.168.32.210 ?

Best regards,

Jan

I added the IP address of the pbxnsip server as an alias to the domain and that allowed the SPA942 phone to register.

So I guess what I really want to do is have the domain be named something like pbx.domain.com and have a real DNS record pointing to it so that the phones register to that rather than an IP address.

Thanks for the idea!

It is kind of weird that when a domain (and extensions I noticed) has an alias defined it creates a second entry in the list of domains. Kind of confusing actually.
