I came across this: http://wiki.snom.com/Settings/cmc_feature but I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to implement this.
  2. I'm having trouble finding the setting for this on the phone. How is this done on a snom360?
  3. Check out the Provisioning Server Redirection through XMLRPC section at http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Plug_and_Play
  4. SoHo v 5.0.3 (snom ONE mini) In the Buttons section of an extension (for a Polycom Soundpoint IP 330), I went to assign a 2-buttons profile. Under Preview and Customize, I selected Private Line for both P1 and P2; and then I clicked Save as Custom. Then, when I checked the logfile, I found: Dictionary: Item dom_extb2.htm noprofile en not found Dictionary: Item dom_extb2.htm custprofile en not found and it would repeat every so often. Any idea what this means???
  5. Did this ever happen? If so, where can such documentation be found?
  6. What happened to the SoHo Getting Started Guide that used to be, here?: http://downloads.snom.net/snomONE/docs/SoHo_Getting_Started.pdf
  7. You've probably already verified this; but, just in case you're anything like me (where, sometimes the solution is right under my nose)... Are the phones set up to receive their IPs via DHCP or do they have static IPs? Are these brand new phones? If not, you may want to do a factory reset.
  8. Click, here: snom ONE license bundle From that page, select a "bundle" and go through the checkout process. In a different thread, it was said that mini & SoHo owners that wish to upgrade can request a 50% discount off of the v5 license.
  9. I think it really depends on your environment. If it's going to be a high-traffic LAN, then you should consider a VLAN or, as you pointed out, a separate network. But, if the users are going to need access to their phone's respective web interfaces, then isolating the PBX becomes problematic. One of the main things you need to assure is that the PBX and the phones have enough bandwidth. While VLANs can help w/that, there are other options as well, e.g. QoS; TOS; DiffServ Are any of the phones going to be in a remote location (such as in a home office)? If so, then you'll want to check out: Server Behind NAT
  10. Log in to the phone's web interface & select Advanced, then select the Update tab. Make sure the local IP address of the SoHo is in the field for the Setting URL, e.g. http://192.168.1.142/prov/snom360.htm As for the other settings: Update Policy: Update Automatically Settings refresh timer: 0 PnP Config: On Then, reboot the phone. If that does not take care of the issues, start from scratch: Click on ~~> Before Doing Plug and Play then ~~> Plug and Play
  11. You are correct; and many VOIP providers, on their respective support sites, have configuration examples for snom ONE. You can also find examples on the snom ONE wiki: Certified ITSPs (this is not an exhaustive list.) I think it's been mentioned in the forum several times in the past, that if you're working in a NAT environment, choose a VOIP provider w/good Session Border Control ("SBC"). In addition to VOIP trunks, you can also configure a PSTN gateway.
  12. I can see where each are you (Northern & snom ONE) are coming from. While SoHo users did have to shell out $ for the hardware, snom ONE is correct in that there's nothing forcing us to upgrade to v5. When we paid for the SoHo, we did so under the assumption that we were buying a full PBX and that's what we received. I guess there could be an argument on Northern's side (which would benefit me, as well, of course) if purchasers of the SoHo were enticed to purchase the product by the prospect of free, lifetime upgrades. However, at this juncture, for the sake of making some progress towards a resolution (or simply an end to this back 'n forth), b/c I'm sure that there are many SoHo users feeling the same as Northern, I'd like to point out the exchanges quoted below: So, is it true that SoHo owners will be offered a discount if they wish to upgrade to v5, yet keep many of the (great, I might add) features that they enjoyed with v4.5?
  13. What version were you trying to install (b/c the link I provided is for the most recent version--which will require that, after the install, you (i) go to snomone.com and create an account; (ii) then select one of the Bundles; and (iii) checkout of the shopping cart to obtain a license key, to activate v5)?
  14. Where did you get the installer from? Was it, here?: http://snomone.com/downloads/snomONE/win64/pbxctrl-v5.0.2.zip
  15. Instead of localhost, try typing in the IP address of the machine on which snom ONE is installed. If that still doesn't work: 1.) Click on Start; 2.) right-click My Computer; 3.) select Manage; 4.) expand Services and Applications; 5.) select Services; 6.) look for either snomONE or pbxctrl to see if the services has started; If not, either reboot the computer or manually start the service.
  16. That makes sense ... found it. Thanks!
  17. Check out the wiki article: Assigning the Protocol a New Port Number
  18. What happened to the Logging link?
  19. In light of v5's 3rd party PnP feature, do we still need to maintain that boat-load of Polycom SIP & BootROM software in the tftp folder of the snomONE working directory? I ask b/c that sucker is eating up a lot of space on my SoHo. If we do need to keep it, could I move the tftp folder to a mounted USB drive and create a symbolic link to the tftp folder, under the working directory?
  20. Drum roll, please....................................................................... and it DOES work; thanks!
  21. The name of the executable in /etc/init.d/snomONE is pbxctrl. Under /etc/init.d, I do not see pbxctrl (not sure if I understood your comment that "the name in the init.d directory is pbxctrl and nothing else."). Per cat /etc/debian_version, the result is 5.0.8
  22. Hmm... still not working. These are the steps I followed: 1.) cd /usr/local/snomONE; 2.) wget http://www.snomone.com/downloads/snomONE/mini/pbxctrl-soho-5.0.2 3.) chmod a+rx pbxctrl-soho-5.0.2; 4.) mv pbxctrl pbxctrl-old; 5.) mv pbxctrl-soho-5.0.2 pbxctrl; I then hard a difficult time restarting the PBX: Rebooting under the System tab didn't work; restarting the PBX service through the SoHo's Admin Interface did not work; service snomONE restart and service snomONE stop through SSH would not work; but was eventually able to restart the entire system through the SoHo's Admin Interface; Now, my remote phone does not register and I can not access the PBX web login page, neither remotely or on the LAN. Through SSH, I ran ./pbxctrl --version and the system's response was: ./pbxctrl: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_ARM_1.3.3' not found (required by ./pbxctrl) Does it matter that the version I was upgrading from was 4.5.0.1090 Epsilon Geminids (snom ONE mini) and not snom ONE SoHo?
  23. When I run a software update, w/in the x.x.x.x:81 Admin Interface, the log generates the following entry: W: Failed to fetch http://provisioning.snomone.com/packages/dists/snomone/Release.gpg Could not resolve 'provisioning.snomone.com' Is that anything to worry about?
  24. Unfortunately, I do not have a mini (unless you have one laying around that you would not mind tossing my way ). How long until a SoHo-platform executable gets cranked out? BTW, thanks for all your quick (and helpful) responses!
