Did you ever get this to work? I am trying to do the same thing.

I want to set up an FTP Boot server but am not getting too far. I have installed FTP on the server, placed the files there that the phone needs, tested logging in at the comand prompt, and pointed the phones to the ftp with option 66 in dhcp and in the server menu on the phone. Every time though i get the error could not contact boot server, using existing configuration. Any idea what i am doing wrong? Gary
