  1. We have successfully used the following vendors for PA's, and Door Phones http://www.its-tel.com/index.php?Itemid=101&option=com_zoo&view=item&category_id=2&item_id=10 http://www.cyberdata.net/products/voip/index.html Using other SIP vendors will require the licenses versions of SnomOne that support other SIP vendors
  2. I stand corrected, then why screw around saving a few dollars doing a mix-n-match Mini Mac, 3rd Party Analog Gateway, and OS integration issues like 801.1p and Q support for mixed layer two systems such as video and home Internet usage of the Layer2 transport. I equate the creating of a unique one-off solution to building and flying your own airplane. If you want to make money, and save a lot of time, I strongly suggest you install the "SnomOne Plus FX4 Yellow" and you'll have a fully integrated OS, GATEWAY, 3 year warranty and you'll save many hours. Monday Morning of this week, we installed a plus directly from the shipping Box to the Wall rack, deployed Snom 3xx phones and M9 Wireless all using PNP in 2 hours Start to Finish. Our margins were terrific (70%) as we were competing against Shoretel, Avaya, and some knockoff. We also monitor and remotely manage all PBX's for additional MSP revenue. Your only decision now is what POE ethernet switches to sell. Here I recommend the switch needs to support Both DSCP, and Port Based QOS simultaneously. We have successfully used managed business switches from Cisco/Linksys SRW series, Dlink, Netgear, Zyxel, and Cisco... Rather than selling the client a VoIP PBX, Sell them a fully managed IP network, with Anti-Virus - Malware, Internet content filteringing with UTM appliances and include CAT wall jacks in all rooms as part of the solution... Offer full IP support for all devices.... Our smallest of clients with this solution represent $400/Month in revenue...
  3. Not to sound crass, but the honest truth is if you plan to get involved in IP based telecom (Not just Snom), you need to make investments in IP skills and certified training on the products. your past Telco skill provide little in the way skill to support IP based solutions. based upon the questions, I might suggest sticking with what you know until you are more confident with the Snom Platform. You'll likely want to add VoIP call/camera boxes from other vendors, as well as integrating IP A/V products and learning IP is so critical to success. It ain't plug and play, as much as we all might wish. Good luck..
  4. For our windows based servers, we normally kill FILE/Print, but for systems with recording, we enable file share, and grant access to a local user name and password. Then the designated client staff person allowed to access recordings has NET USE command line with the embedded user/password to map a drive to folder. Ugly but works and they rarely access the recordings. A much better interface would be to "Allow FTP/SFTP access to recordings and cdrs" as an option. On this same selection screen create a user name and password for each folder. Grant READ ONLY or R/W access to the users. Install the SFTP / FTP server tool of your choice and share the folders to the users. (Don't do anything more that this, and the rest with the interface) Clients could access recordings and CDR's using IE, Explorer, or any number of SFTP/FTP clients. (Snom would be off the hook) Simply install a centos FTP server, create local accounts, and share the folders, Voila'
  5. Thanks - reviewed and hope to have our first unit soon. My guess is we'll likely end up installing or enabling CENTOS FTP, a quick script to make the recordings folder and the cdr folders shared by FTP. Create accounts and suggest clients simply use IE or windows Explorer to open the recordings folder VIA FTP. Will advise and update on this later.
  6. We will soon install our first SnomOne PLus, 20 extension appliance and a major feature that help sell the solution is call recording. Now that we sold it, I'm sure the client is going to say, "How do I get the recordings." We will take delivery in a day or so of our first unit, and hope to find an easy way to share the recordings folder. Ideally we should be able to turn on an FTP service, and share the recordings and CDR folder for access via an FTP client, or simply use Internet explorer. The Interface should be able to create READ only user accounts for access, and perhaps accounts that can remove the recordings. Will I see something like this, or am I just being wishful? Cheers -
  7. Not to sound crass, but it took this long to learn of this. Does this also mean that the previous post attempting to show that this was working, actually was a case where the Cell Phone was set to ring after so many seconds, and not a call truly redirected to another number? We do appreciate the forum efforts, and are happy to pay for support, but paying to learn these kind of Caveats will drive someone nuts... We are going to feel extremely embarrassed when we explain to a client that has been asking for this since February, OPPS, the system can't do that. Makes us look stupid, huh? Thanks for the update.
  8. Here is an update. "record all calls is set." I call the client Backup door auto attendant, go to the extension of choice, talk 1 minute. They transfer the call to a remote cell phone, we talk another minute. The first minute generates a 1 minute wav file recording, the conversation with the cell phone is not recorded. I think I'll open a support request, unless you have a brilliant idea. Thanks
  9. What version was used for the this test? We originally discovered this using 4.2.0.3911 and have since upgraded to 4.2.1.4002 What were your log settings to capture this nice call trace? I will attempt to duplicate your success, and if not open a paid support request for assistance. Thank you.
  10. The following call captured in the log file failed twice in a row. This is the SnomOne CS410 appliance. The Carrier is Comcast with a 4 port DOCSIS IP to FXO gateway from ARRIS. 200 good calls are made in a day, but the clients only remember the ones that failed. Can you shed light on what might cause the Unobtainable Tone Detection Errors? 11. the following post has gone stale, and we are left hanging on the eyes of the customer. We've have updated our posts in a timely fashion and done all that we can, but no replies or suggestions regarding the last post. do we need to consider buying professional services to help isolate and resolve all issues or bugs? Thanks for any input on this issue. http://forum.snomone.com/index.php?/topic/4375-recording-re-directed-calls/page__p__18896__fromsearch__1#entry18896
  12. We have replaced Version: 4.2.0.3911 (Win32) with Version: 4.2.1.4002 (Win32) And we are still not recording calls that are re-directed to external cell phones... Can you advise? Gracias.
  13. ICMP snooping on many managed switches will Kill M/C, PNP GATEWAY services on residential routers will kill PNP... There are many tools available to test M/C and U/C PNP on snom must use port 80 and MC uses 224.0.1.75 If you are in the cisco world, this will get you started http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk828/technologies_tech_note09186a0080093f21.shtml
  14. since Snom phone can handle multiple incoming calls, when a phone is a member of a hunt group, does the hunt group know not to ring the phone where a member of the hunt group is already on a call? We have added CALL WAITING ALERTING to all phones to see if they get beeps. The owner of a business really hates VOICE MAIL, "REALLY", so we have crafted a hunt group with dual ring stages, to them go to an attendant and the client can choose to leave a message, or then we ring a different agent group. Should calls fall into the Bailout voice mail box the owner knows and becomes upset. The users within these groups say they watch the phones like a HAWK. So when a call comes missed, I think we can see a missed call in the actual snom phone logs. This is all somewhat confusing, but is there a setting on a SNOM phone to only allow 1 incoming call that Snomone will support too? Any input appreciated.
  15. Previously posted that we are using ver 4.2.0.3911 (Win32)
  16. Whose problem did you solve? AndrewGroup or Hosted? The explanation above does not advise us on how to resolve the issue we first posted. We've made numerous changes and tests, but no love recording a call that gets forwarded to an external cell phone. Does the statement above mean that you have duplicated the problems seen by us and hosted and have a lab fix and we should anticipate a new version in the near future? Thanks for the update.
  17. We are using 4.2.0.3911 (Win32) If we do the EXE upgrade, might we have problems, and how do we avoid this? Could you retest the recording scenario and use the same to confirm if the issue is directly related? Cheers -
  18. I've also seen where a slow or non responsive DNS server will kill the process on 3.4.xx If the ITSP only has a single IP address, then I would built the trunk and proxy to the IP address. I might also consider making a HOST file entry to the proxy. Also as a test, I would set all services to manual and restart, Is the PBX Public facing? If so be sure to remove FILE/PRINT from that IP.... Put the the gateway on the LAN IP... Make a static and persistent route to the ITSP out the PBX WAN IP gateway... Is this a windowsXP or server platform? WIRESHARK create a custom filter promiscous more... TCP PORT 5060 to view all registrations. We are seeing an alarming amount of SIP attempts from the Washington State area, RACK SPACE too... Good Luck...
  19. how do we FORK a call? vs a Redirection. We have tried several things but no love. I think I'm ready to F@%K this issue. Ha.
  20. for useful and unique solutions to problems like this we regulary use the following tool. http://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/ this will allow you to build an executable file that you can trigger via schedule tasks or when the user logs onto a computer. Quite literally anything you can do on the compure can be captured, automated and scheduled... cheers
  21. We've had no reported cross connects since aligning the SIP ports with the usable port ranges used by Windstream. however, the call count is down from it's peak and we have an unresolved issue created on another post related to forwarding calls from one hunt group to another with an Autoattendant in the middle. Hopefully they are two distinct issues. Thanks.
  22. Might you be considering simulating this is the lab? I can allw remote access, or provide more details on this issue. Thanks -
  23. Here is what we did to test. We created an account on our PBX and assigned it a full DID that is delivered the the extension via the 7 or 10 digit alias on the account. We created a duplicate trunk (Outbound and proxy only to the same ITSP) we assigned this extension the new dial plan that uses the outonly trunk. We are able to call the extension, the calls are forwarded via the new trunk to a cell phone, but no recordings are appearing in the recordings folder. Is this what you meant when you said the call was forked? What more can we do to help us and others diagnose and create a solution to recording re-directed calls. we are here to help in any way. Cheers
  24. this problem continues and we tested the final stages putting them in phase2, and 3 but the results are the same. It might be worth you taking a look at in the lab. Our workaround with an agent group works.
  25. HG109 originally had 3 extensions in a ring all for 20 seconds and nothing in 2,3 and final stage was 8103.... Good Question! Does this imply that stage 1, must have stage2, then stage3 to get to final.. Not allowed to have blank stages in between? If so, sometimes the obvious stares you in the face..
