  1. Upgraded sucessfully to V5.1.2 today. The PBX is working, but the logfile and the call log are empty, The systems log level is set to the default value (5), and the domains log level is also set to the default value (0).

    Where else should I check?

    UPDATE:

I found TXT logfiles in the program folder. Is this where they should be? How would they show up in the web interface?

  2. Finally I found the solution through a couple of tests. SnomOne could not deal with my new wav files.

I produced and downsampled the master wav files on a Linux audio workstation to 8 kHz Mono, 16 bit.

Our SnomOne is running on a Windows Server. So I checked the downsampled wav files on a Windows computer before uploading the them to SnomOne and eveything was fine.

However, there seems to be an issue with wav files originating from Linux not working in conjunction with the SnomOne software, so they are even not uploaded by the system (without any specific error message).

So I converted the master wav files from Linux on a Windoiws system to 8 kHz Mono, 16 bit and SnomOne would store them.

    Another compatibility issue solved.

  3. Well, I checked on this and on our system the IVR wav files are not in the audio_moh folder, but in the recordings folder. I am using distictive file names, so they are easy to locate.

However, where ever they might be located, the system does not accept new uploads and simply ignores them. Once I click on Save the file path is gone.

I also tried to copy the wavs into both, the audio-moh and recordings folder to set them up from there. Still no success.

Probably one of the file directories on the system is malfunctioning,

  4. Our IVR has bee running fine for months.

Today I wanted to replace one of the wav files. But the system does not store the new file.

The uploading seems to work and the file's name is shown after the Upload button. Once I hit save the file's name disappears and I could go through the process all over again.

How can I get rid of this strange behaviour? There is for V 4.5.0.1090 64bit and under full administrative rights.

  5. After upgrading to 4.5 we lost the internal ringtones somehow. When calling from one extension to another there is only silence until the other party picks up. We also replaced the language folders (audio_de, audio_en) on the system to the actual versiosn from the Snom download area, as recommended by the wiki.

  6. I did not edit the dictionary, but I tried to reset it anyway.

This did not help. After about 60 sec. the log's filled again with error messages starting with "Dictionary".

I have a full backup from last december. Is there a way to copy the missing files from somewhere into the installation? I would not like to start with a complete new setup.

  7. Upgraded today from 4.3 to 4.5 by replacing pbxctrl.exe. The log produces many error messages like these (see below). The PBX seems to work anyway but it' still not really nice.

  8. We have a couple of Snoms on the PBX. One Snom 300 reports "Network failure" upon the first attempt to dial a number. Redialing the same number fixes the problem. Having to dial each number two times is a little annoying obviously. How could I fix this?

  9. About every 2-3 weeks all our trunks (6 trunks) go offline at the same time and stay that way.

Clicking the Register links (on the right of each trunk's name) fixes this immediately. But I can only do this once users start complaining that the pbx is offline. What setting should I use, so the trunks go online automatically if this happens again?

Note: This is not caused by failure of our internet connection.

  10. I don't fully understand the use of Gateway trunks as decribed under http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=SIP_Gateway. I want to connect two SnomOne systems over a VPN. In the example Domain 1's gateway trunk is set to IP 209.251.11.111 and domain 2's IP is 151.196.11.111. That's all fine. But how does domain 1 find the route to domain 2? And how do the systems now on what side the 5xx and 6xx numbers are located. Is there some information missing?

Besides: There is also a typo in the example. In the picture with the phones ist says IP 151.195.11.111. In the setup example below 195 ist 196.

  11. We are having networking problems since a couple of days that haven't been fully analyzed yet. But: While all trunks show 503 and 400 errors (no registration), and the pbx can not be called from outside, it is still possible to place outgoing calls. A reboot resolves the situation for a short while, but the trunks will unregister within a short time again.

Any idea what could be the cause? We have not changed the system, except for an update to v 4.2 a couple of weeks ago.

  12. Once one of our mailboxes picks up, only the personal message should play. As I understand the option for this is "Personal Announcement", which should be available in the pulldown menu, together with "Anonymous Announcement" and "Name Announcement". We have uploaded sound files via the web interface, but "Personal Announcement" does not show in the menu. Do I need to set any other option to make "Personal Announcement" available?

  13. We have two PBXNSIP systems running. One ist <10 User. One >10 extensions.

Until now replacing the pbxctrl.exe on Windows was all that needed to be done for an update.

How can I upgrade from PBXNSIP to Snom ONE? SnomONE seems to be only available as an installation file for a complete system setup.

We'd love to evaluate SnomONE on the smaller system with SnomONE free, and leave the bigger system to run PBXNSIP.

A small comment besides: Both Snom an PBXNSIP have always advertised the fact that SIP means vendor independence. By blocking other devices than Snom, Snom is moving back into the dark past of telephony, towards closed sytems. Our company would rather like to pay higher licence fees, rather than operate a crippled system, or having a small choice of telephones from only one manufacturer. We bought three 3m phones from Snom last year and all of them broke down within 6 months. Snom support wasn't able to help. So we had to replace them by Siemens devices. Their desktop phones are great, however. Now, should we buy mediocre phones only because the pbx requires this. That's not the idea behind SIP.

  14. Maybe the programmers can check into this matter:

We've been running V4 for almost 2 weeks and there seems to be an issue with the registration of SIP providers. While the trunk is showing 200 Ok there is no registration on the provider's side. A restart solves the problem, but the registration may get lost again after 2-3 hours.

This goes for two V4 systems in two different locations with different hardware.

We moved both systems back to V3 today by exchanging the pbxctrl.exe (no new setup), and the registration problems are gone.
