RichardDCG
Is there a way to be able to 'scan' the QR code if you only have a mobile phone? If you receive the email on your phone, how do you create the config? Some apps allow you to save the QR and then browse for it.

RichardDCG
is this achievable?
Vodia PBX
If you open a link in safari, there is a way to propose using the app instead of the web page, which includes the possibility to pass the token for pairing the app into the app once it is installed. But I am not sure if that would work if you e.g. open the email with the gmail app on iOS. The alternative would be to use a mirror and take a photo of your own screenshot LOL. Or more realistically, copy and paste the QR code into the app; however I doubt that anybody would think this is intuitive.
mskenderian
I think the real solution would be what other apps do. They allow you to select the qr photo from the photo library. one can save the qr image into photos and then go to Vodia app click on scan. And there would be a button that lets you choose the photo from the library.
Vodia PBX
There must be a better way. For example universal links could be used to first install the Vodia App and then use a URL with some vodia-app://pbx.demo.com?user=123&tenant=bla.com&token=3js3h43 link to do the pairing. I think there was also a way to pass a token from the App Store link to the app itself after it runs the first time, but could not find that again. Vodia PBX
In the next version, we are coming with a new login procedure anyway. When the user gets an email, she will essentially use passkey to create credentials for login that will work across different apps and devices. After clicking on the link, Safari will open and make the magic happen. This will work also in cases where the user opens the email on the Mac and then installs the app on the iPhone. Then when installing the app, it will work right off the bat. No need to QR codes anywhere, and there is no need for a password. Saving QR codes and then importing them in the app (essentially breaking any security and making it available for all apps with file system access) will look backward. GenesisHaley
Hi! If you're still looking for a way to scan QR codes using your mobile phone, there are plenty of apps available in the app store that you can download. Just search for "QR code scanner" and choose one with good ratings. Once you've scanned the QR code, you can save it to your phone or use it right away. Regarding creating the config, some apps enable you to create a QR code from your phone, so you can create it on your computer and scan it with your phone. By the way, have you heard about automatic document scanning and OCR technology? It's an awesome way to save time. Here's a link where you can learn more: https://smartengines.com/. Hope this still helps!
mskenderian
thats not the issue at hand. the vodia app requires the phone to scan the code while you are in the vodia app. there are plently of times where users are not near a computer to be able to scan. instead of fixing this issue now, vodia plans to wait for a better fix. it tend to move slowly. I think its easy just add the feature that you can browse the users photo library and import the qr code picture.

Vodia PBX
The next version 1.22 will register for the vodia scheme, and the welcome email will contain a link that will use this scheme to allow pairing without the need to scan the barcode. This will be in 69.0.4.
