transfer caller direct to exchange voicemail ?

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I have a client that has exchange 2007 and PBXnSIP 3.4.0.3201 (Win32). Before we went to exchange for voicemail you could dial the direct dial voicemail number of 8 + Extension # and it went to voicemail I removed that for exchange and put 99$u in the external voicemail setting. However if I have someone try to send me directly to exchange voicemail I get a wierd error message telling me that I can not use that extension to make the call. ANy ideas how to achieve direct dial voicemail in Exchange?

Thank you!

Tom

In theory, you should be able to blind transfer that person to 99+ext. The external voicemail mechanism does nothing else than this.

Also, verify what goes to the Exchange server. If the exchange server wants 8+ext then you can do that on the dial plan (Ex: 99* to 8* pattern and replacement)
