Alex Sergeev
Good Day! Please help to resolve problem. In our domain of PBXnSIP has extension John with number 2434. If I try to dial out 2124340, then appears on display of Snom phone: John <2434>. The call goes to number 2124340. What should I do to appear on display dialed number 2124340? Vodia PBX
That looks like a bug with the LDAP. Probably the phone asks the PBX "is ther eany match for 2434? And the PBX answers with the extension name. You can try to disable the LDAP port to see if that is the problem (clear the LDAP setting in the admin/ports section and restart the service). Alex Sergeev
1. Yes, if LDAP is disabled, no problem. But in this case we can not use LDAP address book, which default provisioning by PBXnSIP on Snom 821 and 870. What to do? 2. We've found another problem of using our domain address book on Snom 821 and 870. The keys phone no Russian letters. Therefore, the names in domain address book containing English letters. Previously, we were easy to use method of searching in address book by pressing the single button on Snom phones with the desired letter (pseudo-T9). Now, using LDAP address book from Snom phones, we, firstly, can not enter English letters, as we use Russian phone interface; and secondly, to find a contact is necessary to press several times to select the required letter. We very much want to search in LDAP address book was a single click. And we very much want to be able to switch the input language and the ability to set the default input language. Vodia PBX
Generally speaking the PBX cares no too much about the characters, it is using UTF-8 (which is easy). However, displaying the UTF-8 characters set might be challenging for the phones, as there need to be more than the usual 95 characters found in the ASCII table. Alex Sergeev
Sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you mean. Repeat. What do I do with wrong display of outgoing call? Can I switch the input language from Russian to English?
Vodia PBX
Well, it seems the only way to solve both problems is to change the LDAP processing in the PBX, so that it only matches the beginning, not anywhere. It would also speed up the processing I guess.
