olecoot
There are a multitude of expired-xxx.txt files in the root of pbxnsip. Can someone please explain what these are? Thanks
Vodia PBX
Those files were collected by the garbage collector inside the PBX - should not happen but if it happens, it writes a log so that later we can find out why. You can just remove these files.
olecoot
Ok. What log would I look into? The one that is accessible from within pbxnsip or does it write to another file. I'm seeing a very high number of these files. Thank you. Vodia PBX
I would be only concerned if you are running latest release...

I have just installed version 2.1.3.2336(Win 32) and have found a few expired.txt files in the PBX directory. Example 1: Type: From: To: Diversion: Extension: Trunk: Start: Connected: Domain: Call-ID: IVR-State: stage0 Loop: Reference: State: Example 2: Type: From: To: Diversion: Extension: Trunk: Start: Connected: Domain: Call-ID: IVR-State: stage2 Loop: Reference: State: Thanks in advance! olecoot
Okay, now I am concerned... I have to say that the number of expired files have been reduced since the upgrade, although it was done only yesterday, Dec. 18.
Vodia PBX
Well, it can really happen that there are "junk" calls. That is the purpose of the garbage collector. There should just not be too much junk on the street.

There should just not be too much junk on the street. OK. What is the definition of a "junk" call? Would this be a call that somehow was incomplete, network outage, ??? If this information is placed in a log file, how do I see it? There are currently 8 of these files on the server. 7 from yesterday (the day of the upgrade) and 1 from today. Before the upgrade it was conceivable to see hundreds ..... Thanks in advance!
Vodia PBX
What is the definition of a "junk" call? Those calls hang in the call list for a long time (I think more than 8 hours). The reason is hard to describe, if it would be clear than that call would not hang around.
