nathans Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 Hi, I'm probably missing something, but how do you autoprovision a whole group of phones to assign them a multicast addresses to be part of paging group? I know it can be done one-by-one via the phone's web interface and I know how to create a paging extension telling it which extension should it be part of. Thanks. Nathan Quote
Vodia PBX Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 If there is a paging group in the domain with a multicast address it should be all automatic. Quote
nathans Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 By paging group, you a Paging account? I have one with a multicast address on it as shown on the screenshot attached. They phone do not have anything showing on the multicast . Quote

Vodia PBX Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 The screenshot looks okay. The phones are in the LAN I suppose? Maybe you have to run a PCAP trace to see weather there are multicast packets in the LAN when you do a paging. You can do that from the phone, then you don't have to install Wireshark on the PBX server. Quote
nathans Posted January 9, 2012 Author Report Posted January 9, 2012 Understood. But I would think that before doing a trace or anything I should be seeing the multicast address being populated in the multicast paging group in each phone, no? If i manually enter the address, paging works. My problem is configuring 85+ phones manually... Quote
Vodia PBX Posted January 9, 2012 Report Posted January 9, 2012 You can actually also check the generated folder in the PBX working directory for the configuration that the PBX has generated. There should be something with multicast in it. Quote
