Reading Call Logs

When reading call logs SEE below. All incoming calls pass through account 980 then to receptionist... Calls are transferred to extensions... How do we trace the call path through the system?

2/6/2008 8:27:19 6665554675 localhost 980 localhost - 0 01:16

Does the time shown on this entry represent the total time the caller spent including the time spent talking to an extension?

Does another Call Entry exist for the extension that was called? If were both of these entries created when the transferred extension hung up the call?

We have an internal discussion on this. After a attended transfer it is not clear what duration should be shown. It could be that we change the currently policy and show only the duration after the attended transfer. It seems that this is what the good old systems were doing.

Duplicating older systems seems a bad decision. Who say's clients were ever happy with that?

Create and entry for the first call, and when the attended transfer ends or transfers again make and entry with the original Caller ID, the new Extension and Add a T to indicate it was a transfer or the source extension.

CDR is probably a topic that we address in a new way in a 2.2 version. There are a lot of problems with transfers and call segments. We probably have to dive it much deeper than we do today, and then re-assemble the pieces into something human readable so that Joe A is able to read the CDR report.

If a call comes into a hunt group (e.g. 200) with members (100,101,102) - do the CDR logs display who answered the call or just 200?

I wrote a program to parse the CDR records and stick them into MSDE\MSSQL only to be slightly confused by it. Could an additional column\attribute be added to include the answered-extension (whether due to the huntgroup or a divert)
