Stefano Trentini Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Hi, I'd like to know how I can customize the background image for the phones which I have made provision (Snom 821) with Snom One. I am able to do it on a single phone, uploading the .tar file modified with custom image, but I want to know if there is a way to do this automatically via provisioning. Thanks! Quote
Vodia PBX Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 You can edit the templates for the PnP files, and add the necessary URL in those files. It is somewhere on our to-list to make that easier and have a central point for important images that are automatically converted into the right format; but right now this is the way to go. Quote
Stefano Trentini Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 Ok, thank you very much! Do you already know what is the file to edit and the exact scope? otherwise I'm going to find him calmly ... Quote
Vodia PBX Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Check out e.g. snom_3xx_phone.xml and snom_760_phone.xml. There is a article about this topic on the snom wiki http://wiki.snom.com/Category:HowTo:Background_Image; it shows the problem: it is not enough to just have one image; you need to have the image available in different resolutions and formats. You can put the images into the tftp folder of the PBX. As URL you can then use http://ip-of-the-pbx/tftp/image-name.jpg. This way, you don't have to use an external HTTP server to serve the images. Stefano Trentini Posted June 19, 2013 Author Report Posted June 19, 2013 I was using this phone for the individual steps: http://wiki.snom.com/Category:HowTo:Branding and it works great! Is there a way to do this with provisioning? Otherwise, the url for the idle screen does not change the background image in the various menus as I would like... Quote
