Stefano Trentini
HI, how can I do a backup of all the settings of my PBX from the web interface? I haven't found the way to do this...
Vodia PBX
You should not. Everything that the PBX needs is in the file system; sending the file system through the PBX web interface is not helping making it a more stable system. Even for embedded devices, making remote (and even automatized) backups is not that hard any more.
Stefano Trentini
????????? I think it is absolutely lack the ability to perform a configuration backup via web interface!!! in the event of server failure, you lose everything, that isn't a good thing... Vodia PBX
Of course you should make a backup. The way the PBX works makes it simple, just ZIP or TAR or rsync or Dropbox/box/SkyDrive your working directory. Having another method that works more or less through HTTP of the program itself is not necessary and creates more problems than it solves. For example, if you have a web backup, how do you restore it.
pklausner
For the record: Google still prominently points to this page for configuration backup: http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Configuration_Backup which makes you wonder why the option is missing until you find this topic here. And I agree with Stefano. An explicit *configuration* backup would be very nice. The backup is so huge only because it includes loads of call records and things which I would not even want in a reconfigure from scratch scenario. ahennis@voicespring.net
Couldn't you just have wiki.snomone.com point to to vodia.com/doc/
