  1. Why is it that I can not access a conference room from the auto attendant?

If I call from my mobile phone, or if I dial extension 70 (our auto attendant) and then dial 800 (our conference room) it returns "This extension does not exist".

If I dial 800 from my soft phone, it dials into the conference number as expected.

  2. Removes the number? You mean from that input field in the web interface?!

    Correct. I type in:

    !(.*)!\1!t! 70

and after I hit save it shows

    !(.*)!\1!t!

Well, it should be on that Wiki page, but it is hard to write something down that covers all cases clearly..... So it is good to have a (public) forum, so that people can also search for such cases and get more hands-on examples.

    Thanks for the help!

  3. Then the tel:-alias should be the right thing for you. Don't forget to clear that "Send call to extension" field. If the carrier put the destination into the To-header, then you need to put the destination out of the to header. You can do this with the following string in "Send call to extension" (assuming that 123 is the default, which could be your auto attendant):

    !(.*)!\1!t! 123

I added the code you suggested, and it solved my problem. Just out of curiosity, I added it as you said with 123 (70 for my AA) as the default extension, but it removes the number. It is working and sending the calls to the correct extensions though.

Is this documented somewhere that I should have been able to figure this out myself? Also is there a place that defines how to write your own codes like the one above?

  4. Just noticed this:

    [5] 2008/04/01 15:33:57: Identify trunk (line match) 2

    [5] 2008/04/01 15:33:57: Trunk Callcentric sends call to 1777xxxxxxx

[5] 2008/04/01 15:33:57: Trunk call: Could not identify user

1777 is my account number, should this be sending my DID's instead? If so, how do I fix that?

  5. I have a cellcentric account with two DIDs.

If I have the trunk forward all calls to extension 70 both dids forward to that extension (Auto Attendant).

If I remove that extension from the trunk, and then put tel:DID1 on the AA as an alias; and tel:DID2 on extension 55 (which once working, I want to hook up to an ATA for a fax machine).

So DID1 should go to the Autoattendant and DID2 should go to the Fax extension.

But when I set this up, the calls never make it to PBX.

    Any ideas?

  6. Somewhere in this thread, I got lost. It would be great to see a full description of the original need, and how it was accomplished within PBXnSIP as a Best Practice entry. This is bound to be a repeat request.

    Cheers

    Question:

I wanted to create custom voice prompts for the PBX system. When asking a caller to dial 411 for the call by name directory it has an announcement wav file, and then plays a wav file for 4, 1 and 1. Is it possible to not have the 4, 1, 1 wav files play and just allow us to say the required 411 in the first announcment?

    Basically..

    Currently:

"For a dial by name directory please dial".wav

    "4".wav

    "1".wav

    "1".wav

    Replace with:

"For a dial by name directory please dial 411".wav

It would sound a lot nicer.

    Thank you,

    Solution:

A auto attendant will immediately do to dial by name if you put "start" into the place where you currently have "411". If you use two auto attendants, then the first one can make the annoucement as described above, then redirect the call to the second attendant (which has an unspellable name like "dialbyname") and bingo - we have the perfect annoucement.
  7. Ehh... You are right.

There is still one possibility.

    This worked great, thank you.

  8. With "hijack" I mean overwrite. Then select it in the AA as one of the annoucements and as direct destination put a "x" there.

I don't see how that will stop it from saying 411 for the dial by name. Won't it make that announce it as long as the 411 is entered in the "Dial By Name:

Input that triggers name search:" section?

    Thank you,

  10. I'm not sure what settings you need to see as I'm new to this...

If I make a phone call to my Callcentric.com DID, pbxnsip automated attendant picks up. If I then dial an extension (or use dial by name) It will go directly to the voicemail of the extension instead of ringing the soft phone I have installed (X-Lite). The softphone is connected, as it can show that it received voice mail and I'm able to dial out to external numbers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Bill
