  1. Everyone, we use a lot of conference calling here and we just switched over to Callcentric yesterday. While on a conference call today I musted my snom 320 by pressing the mute button on the phone. A shortime later 30-45 seconds I was dropped from the call. Silence surpression in NOT enabled on my phone and call Centric said they will drop the call and that I should try to mute it by using a star code? Has anyone run into this before?

  2. If you have specified telephone number alias names, then you can also log in with that number (no domain required).

    No I only have 1 domain it is srpbx01mdgn.miXXXXXxx.com with an alias of local host. All this use to work until I moved from one server to a new vm. Please help.

  3. OK I can get the phones to auto provision no problem. All of the settings, phone book everything is good. However, I have a couple of users that would like minor things changed on a per phone basis. So I have the xml file written for them. But what should the file name be called and where should it be placed? I was thinking it should be like this

    snom_320_MACADDRESSS.xml and place it in the html folder but that did not work any help is greatly appreciated.

  4. , I think I have narrowed it down. If I change my account to admin it makes no difference I still can’t log in. I looked in the log and each time it says the password is bad. But if I change the account password I still can’t log in. Also I even tried to creat a new user which it did fine but it won't let me log in with that password either. Any ideas why?

    Well after about 5 hours of banging my head against a wall we found the solution. we needed to use the domain name of the pbx domain at the end of the user name. For instance, my username was 817. now it has to be 817@srpbx01.mdgn.microdatagis.com I have no idea why but that is what did the trick. Also be careful when you copy the pbxctr.exe file that you unblock it on the new server, in order to do this right click on the file and go to properties and click unblock at the bottom! Thanks for the help!

  6. hmm

    I've done that several times and not noticed that issue...

    What happens if you manually change the web interface password for the user?

    It does not work. I tried changing a bunch of them and I get the message that they don't match. The only thing that has changed is the server name. I copied the entire pbx directory. The server name is now srpbx02 instead. That is the only difference. The domain name in the pbx software is srpbx01. Also my provisioning does not work anymore but that is because the web login is broken.

  7. Ok I just moved the pbx server from and old computer to a new VM. I just simply copied the entire pbx folder to the new server after installing the program on the server. All phones are registered and everything is working great except no user can log into the WEB UI! I can as the admin but no one else! PLease help!

  8. Hello all, I have a new Snom 820 on my desk and it is running the latest firmware snom820-SIP 8.2.11 19270. When I recieve a call all of the lights flash but the ringer does not ring. I checked in the gui of the phone and it is set to ring ringer 1 but nothing is working. If I attempt to use the speaker phone it does not work either. Is there a setting I am missing?

  9. I have a bunch of Aastra 57i phones and a few Snom 360s. All running current firmware and have been working fine for months. Yesterday morning they all started rebooting. It was about 5-10 minutes between each reboot. But only these phones. The other 45 M3s that we use are working fine. I tried rebooting the server yesterday at lunch and that seemed to fix the issue but it is back again this morning. Any ideas??? Thank you for your help.

  10. It depends a little bit on the type of phone if the DHCP or the settings have higher precedence. That is a question of trying things out.

    If you change just the pbx.xml file that has zero effect. You need to change this through the web interface (see for a trick on how to handcraft a URL that does this job: https://www.pbxnsipsupport.com/index.php?_m...kbarticleid=413). Keep in mind this changes the NTP server for all domains.

    I am using Snom 370 Phones. WIll changing the DHCP work for me? I also try the xml. I have had very good luck with them lately!

  11. Hello all, one of my customers changed the NTP clock on the domain. So I need to push the change out to all of the phones. I tried to do this with DHCP but it keeps getting changed back on the phone. I also changed it in the PBX.xml on the rooot of the pobx folder wsith negative results. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  12. This is an option on the Snom phones. There is a setting called "Dial tone during hold" under advanced-->audio that is used to disable the dial tone or set cw_dialtone to off in one of the snom_xxx_custom.xml config files to change it globally.

    I found the setting but I am having trouble with the custome xml file. Here is what my file says:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?>

    <settings>

    <phone-settings e="2">

    <cw_dialtone perm="">off</cw_dialtone>

    </phone-settings>

    </settings>

    file name is snom_360_custom.xml

    and I have it in my HTML directory. What am I doing wrong?

    Tom

  13. tom,

    you sure it's picking up another line? Our 360's sound like a dial tone but it doesn't actually. I'll admit i like dead air instead of the misleading tone...

    (but i haven't taken time to fix it...)

    matt

    Yeah I just tried it. It sounds like dial tone and if you start to dial a number it will go through. It is no big deal. I just want to be able to tell the customer what the expected behaviour is.

  14. Greetings, I have about 40 Snom 370s and when the customer dials an extension or a number in the directory is it possible to display the name of the person or extension instead of the number. If it is possible on extensions only I think that might be ok. Thank you!

  15. I have a customer with about 50 phones and some of them are in break rooms and excersie room and other generally unsupervised areas. The supervisor wants to know if we can limit long distance and international calls on an extension level basis? Thanks for the help. I had no idea where to post this topic so if it needs to be moved please do so.

    Tom

  16. Hello all, I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I did not know where else to post it. I have a customer that wants some extension to be able to call long distance and others not to. Just a note I am running the newest version of PBX dated the 7th of July. All of the phones and extensions have been deployed. Is there an easy way to do what this customer wants?

    Tom

  17. 909 is not a SIP response code. SIP is only between 100 and 599. I guess there must be something with the base.

    In order to fix this I cleared the registration from the pbx and manually added it like this :

    sip:ext@172.16.2.14

    And I was able to make calls. Thank you for the help.
