[Issue with Night Service fields v5.0.6]

Can confirm it also does this in 5.07.

 

To get the space to take you need to click on the account pop up when it appears while typing the 2nd account number. And then for some reason it will then take the space.

 

Example - Joe Smith is 205, when you type 201 then space 205, "205 Joe Smith" appears, click on it and it will add in the space.

 

If your adding an 8 in front for direct to voicemail you will not get the pop up so you will not be able to add the space.

 

So when doing multiple service flags your in trouble. I have the same issue at present with a customer.

 

What I told you above will get 8201 working but you will need to keep the other as 220 and put 220 voicemail answer time lower.

 

This needs to be fixed.

[Snom Vision Park Keys]

That is a huge shame. Hardware wise it is excellent piece of kit let down by its software.

 

I understand it's out of your guys hands, but the lack of a fully functioning dss console with auto prov on the snom one software is going to be a limitation in some cases when trying to sell a Snom One over a key system. Especially when the 720 is as good as it gets in terms of function/dss keys.

 

If Snom releases a console for the 7 series or a major software update for the vision, I hope they consider the snom one software and work with you guys on it.

Hi Guys

 

Can not get the cell number to import in Domain Address book from csv in 5.07.

 

Using the following format -

 

First name,last name,number,cell

 

I get the number repeated in the cell field. Any ideas?

 

Also would it be possible to get some more domain default options as the updates go on?

 

Changing "Include local extensions in the phone address book" to "No" on 96 extensions is a painful process.

 

Another Phone System I work with uses a "copy to all extensions" option with a confirmation on certain parameters.

 

Makes big installs a lot less painful and would be handy on the Snom.

Same issue. Stopped using co lines because of this. A fix would be great.

 

Also if you BLF a hunt group you get the same issue.

[Hold Key Purpose]

Add this setting to your snom_3xx_phone.xml file:

 

<cw_dialtone perm="RW">off</cw_dialtone>

 

Now when you press the hold button it puts the caller on hold like it always did but it doesn't play the dial tone in your handset or speaker.

 

 

We also add this setting:

 

<holding_reminder perm="RW">off</holding_reminder>

 

This turns off the beep reminder letting you know you still have somebody on hold.

 

After making those changes restart your Snom phone so it can do it's PnP to take in those 2 new settings.

 

We PnP all our Snom phones with those settings.

 

Great , Thanks for that, that at least gets rid of the pesky tone while the user has to leave a caller on hold for a duration but do not wish to transfer.

 

Wouldn't it be a good idea SNOM ONE that string be standard in the snom_3XX_phone.xml ? Am I missing a reason why someone would want that tone?

[Domain address book in Snom One]

Since 5.07 this works great EXCEPT .... on a customer with 710 handsets it selects the cell number first not the phone number. Small but annoying bug. Number should be first selected then cell. Now in LDAP they have to select contact - select - direction key - Select.

 

EDIT: Ok tried it on a system here and I do not have this issue..... disregard I will keep testing this one

[Hold Key Purpose]

What is the purpose of the hold key? Am I wrong or does it function exactly what the transfer key does!

 

The Hold key should either put a call on the next available park or at very least let the user hold the call and put there hand piece down without dial tone still coming through the speaker.

Maybe try this.

 

Under each extension:

"Include local extensions in the phone address book" set it to No

 

If you want the local extensions/system accounts in the directory just add them to the Domain address book as a regular entry - I haven't done this but I think it will solve your problem for "I have a customer that just wants alphabetical".

Can we at some stage get more fields in the domain address book.

 

Cell phone, email and picture would be very handy especially when having 2 or more Snom Ones talking to each other.

 

Also a great feature would be several options on how the address book entry's are ordered on the handset.

 

I have a customer that just wants alphabetical, not the system accounts first.

Seem to be having trouble with the Vision console.

 

Assigning 8 Park Orbits to keys on the Vision works for parking a call, but you cannot hit the same park key to retrieve the call back.

Works brilliant out and back in to my own Fax but need to test in the real world.

I am trying to upload MOH files remotely to customers systems with no luck. All are 8-kHz sampling frequency, and 16 bit format.

 

It says the file is uploaded fine but plays nothing. I know in old versions you could not do this it had to be manually added into the PC Snom One is installed on but surely this is changed by now? If not why does it upload?

How do you want intercom and speed dial on the same key?!

 

Ok well take speed dial out of the equation. But then say the reception wanted to then transfer an incoming call using this same button, would it still work?

I seem to have an issue when assigning intercom buttons for our office with Snom 870s and snom one 5.06

 

Whenever I create an intercom button for any extension on an 870 it works fine once then the button turns to "idle" and stops working.

 

I have enabled intercom on desired extensions and *90 still works fine.

 

Is this a bug?

You can make such changes on the snom_3xx_phone.xml. The one that you edited is just the "root" file, pointing to all the other files with the details in it.

[870 Custom Background and Springboard]

I am looking at making the 870 handsets on my latest installation have a custom backgrounds with the company logo.

 

I have read the picture format tutorial and have created a .xml using the xml generator.

 

I put the file on our web server and to test I put the link to my idle-screen.xml in the identity settings of a handset. And it works a treat.

 

What I am struggling to work out is, what I need to add it in to my snom_870.xml file for mass provisioning.

 

I tried adding the following but have no luck with this image auto provisioning.

[Extension Pictures]

The first thing about pictures is that they should be "thumbnail size", meaning their resolution should be around 100 x 150 pixel. Unfortunately, if you take pictures with modern cell phones, they are huge and not being displayed on the phones (http://wiki.snom.com...:Caller_Picture).

 

In the UCClient we have added a nice drag & drop feature that does all the magic for you; however installing the UCClient for every extension is an exercise that I would not recommend right now.

 

The LDAP on the PBX does not deal with images.

 

So my suggestion would be to take a photo edit program of your choice, and manually process those pictures. Then you can upload them from the domain admin mode into the accounts. Sorry for the inconvenience, but that is probably the easiest way to go.

 

Edit: P.S. why don't you just use one snom ONE then? For this installation size it should be no problem and you are already using VPN.

 

Thanks for the info. Problem is pictures do not travel between systems so I would need to upload them in each handsets address book... all 52... =(

 

I would love to do a single snom one, then the above would not be as big a problem. Unfortunately this customer did not like the idea that if the main office goes down all branches are of the air. So this was my only solution.

 

A great feature would be if Snom One in the future considered a another gateway option called "Snom Link". This option would be for just for linking Snom One systems together.

All sites have a Snom system with fallback to other sites in event of a failure + a little more smarts between sites(like pictures) All as if they were one big system.

So you program all the systems the same (program one and it loads it into the others would be even better =) ) all on the same license and if one site fails the other sites continue functioning. =)
