Guest brianb@glessner.net
We have a large sale opportunity on our end. However the client threw us a caveat. They have an existing ICON/ Iwatsu campus platform that has numerous systems through the City infrastructure. And they want to “phase in” building or dept by dept. The ICON system is SIP capable, however the technology is approx 12 years old and no updates have been engineered into SIP technology on it. So we would not realistically want to consider a SIP to SIP integration with what we know of it. We tried unsuccessfully tying into a Cisco system once before and it was more trouble than it was worth. I do not know if any of you to your knowledge have tried a more traditional approach to convert from Vodia stations to PRI, or from Vodia stations to analog stations. If so, what auxiliary devices would you recommend? If not any thoughts on how you would engineer this. This would be approx 400 stations or more depending on softphone and cell app provisioning. Any assistance would be appreciated
Vodia PBX
IMHO the only way to do this is to use a SIP trunk between the previous system and the Vodia PBX. That means that features like BLF and call pickup will not be possible between the domains, but at least calls within the company would still be possible.
