  1. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - found out the problem... it seems that if you change from the master account to an extension account, you need to reboot your server (or at least I imagine the PBX service), as otherwise something doesn't get changed in the settings sent to Voipfone. Rebooting the server cleared the problem.

    Andrew

  2. Hi,

I just replaced the 4.3.0.5021 executable for our Win64 PBX with 4.5.0.1050 and restarted the PBX service. The service comes up properly, and registers the phones and trunks, but when you try to dial out there is nothing -- not even the confidence noise. On looking at the log, it says "no trunks found", despite showing that the trunks are registered. Nothing has changed other than the executable - any thoughts on how to troubleshoot? I've also tried with 4.5.0.1016 with the same results.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  3. I've checked what's happening, and when I change to the extension registration, there is no response recorded in the log from voipfone after the PBX has sent a registration (there are lots of "Tr" records).

I've logged a call with voipfone to see if they can help, but having spoken to them earlier today I'm not sure how far I'm going to get.

Anything I can do that will isolate the problem further greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  4. Hi,

I'm trying to set up several SIP trunks using voipfone.co.uk as our ITSP. I have a master account which I can set up as a SIP trunk and it works perfectly, however when I try and replace the master account with an "extension" account (add *200 to the account name/username and use the appropriate password), I get a 403 Forbidden first and then a 408 Timeout after that.

Does the SnomONE not support account/usernames with an asterisk in? I can't see any other thing that is different with the logon other than this. If I try registering directly on my Snom 821 it works fine with the extension account, just not when trying to register on the SnomONE.

If there's some troubleshooting I can do, please let me know what settings I need the logs at and what to look for.

    Many thanks,

    Andrew

  5. Hi, I must be a bit slow, but can't work out from the manual how to connect two snom ONE PBXs together.

I have one PBX with numbers in the range 5xx and the other in the range 4xx. From the documentation it looks like I create a gateway trunk on #1 with the public IP address of #2 in the domain and proxy fields (and nothing else). On #2 I do the reverse. Then I create a dialplan that routes the number over the specific trunk. Is that it? Also, will the numbers be sent between PBXs - i.e. if I call 400 from 501, will 400 show that 501 is calling?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  6. Thanks - that worked. I've set up the GoIP in gateway mode which allows Snom ONE to see it as a trunk and dial out correctly, passing the number to dial through. I've not yet managed to get an inbound trunk to work, but will continue experimenting. What I do have is an inbound registration to ext 509, so I can receive calls, just can't see who they're from yet.

Will post more as I work it out!

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  7. Okay, I've got the gateway registering with the PBX as extension 509, and have set the gateway to forward all calls to extension 500, which works greate. I can call the mobile number which then rings the Snom 821 on my desk (although I was pretty much doing the same simply by forwarding the call to our switchboard number anyway previously, and I also got called id, which I don't get using this method).

I can route the outbound calls to extension 509 with a modification to the dial plan, but at the moment I've not worked out how I can pass the number called to the gateway. What I get currently is a new dial tone when the original mobile number is dialed, and have to re-enter the number to call, as in the dial plan I can only put the extension number in the "replacement" field.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  8. I have not seen or even used this device before. From the specification, it looks like it would work. The price is not too expensive, looks like this is worth a try. If it does work, it could be a great complimentary device for snom ONE. I would definitevely interested in a report!

Okay, the unit arrived today, but I'm a bit stumped as to how to set it up. I was expecting it to operate like my ITSP, where I create a trunk on the Snom ONE as a SIP registration against the GSM gateway server, but it appears to want to work the other way around - it wants to have SIP registration details entered to connect it to a VOIP system.

I was reading in the Snom ONE user guide about connecting to PBXs together by creating an extension on one and creating a trunk on the other (I think that's what it meant) - is that how I should try connecting this up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  9. Hi,

Following on from getting a number of external blocked IPs that I can't explain I'm looking to lock down our PBX as much as ppossible. I have outbound proxy addresses in place for all trunks, limited inbound access on the trunks to our ITSPs address, and am locking accounts to fixed IPs for the phones.

What I can't work out is how to block access to the PBX so that anything outside our local subnet and the trunks has no access. I've set the access to allow for 192.168.x.0/24 to allow, but unsure what to do to block all others. I'm assuming something like 0.0.0.0/0 but not 100% sure and didn't want to lock myself out of the PBX!

    Cheers

    Andrew

  10. No blacklisting also works on the HTTP ports (80 and 443).

The PBX isn't on port 80 or 443 - this server has IIS on those ports. The PBX is on 8080 and 7443 neither of which are open on the firewall on our router.

I've increased the blacklisting period to 7 days and fortunately haven't had any more intrusions yet, so hopefully they've got bored.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  11. The automatic blocking of IP addresses is not related to the open ports. It is just a logic so that the PBX temporarily blocks traffic from certain sources which failed to authenticate. When sendng traffic out from the PBX to an address, that address is automatically considered valid. So this takes care about the trunk.

When doing port forwarding keep in mind this works for TCP, but it does not work for UDP. Keep in mind that the PBX will choose the RTP ports from a port range, and it needs to advertize the port and IP address to the outside phone.

My curiousity was that the IP addresses that were being blocked should never have got to the PBX, as the only ports forwarded to this server are 80, 443, 8443, and 4125, none of which the PBX service is listening on. They are services on the same server, just not from the Snom ONE service.

So if I understand it correctly, somehow connections from these IP addresses have made it to the server, on port 5060 (sip)?

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  12. sounds like someone is trying to login into snom ONE web interface and failing and the ip's are being blocked for that reason.

Hi Matt - thanks for your reply. The Snom ONE web interface isn't available outside our local network - it's on port 8080 which isn't open on the firewall, so I don't think it's that.

  13. Hi,

I'm guessing this isn't strictly a SnomONE question, but thought I'd ask it here anyway...

I am seeing three blocked IP addresses in the "IP Access Control" section of the SnomONE web console, as follows:

    108.163.194.149/32 Block (sip)

    113.105.167.122/32 Block (sip)

    46.165.195.130/32 Block (sip)

The Snom ONE is behind a NAT firewall, with all ports blocked apart from 80, 443, 8443, and 4125 which are forwarded to the server running Snom ONE.. None of these are related to our Snom ONE (it uses ports 8080 and 7443).

Our trunks are set up as SIP registrations with Entanet and BT. I was kind of assuming that these were outbound connections managed by our firewall, so weren't leaving anything open to the elements as it were.

I've tried probing our firewall with ShieldsUP! (grc.com) and it shows only the ports I was expecting as open - any pointers as to how these are getting picked up by the PBX, what they actually are and what other measures I need to put into place to block access attempts?

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  14. Hi, just installed Snom ONE, set up extensions, trunks etc. and have everything working but can't work this one out... Using Snom ONE version 2011-4.3.0.5021 (Win64)

When I receive voicemails, the voicemail light on my Snom 820 lights up. I press it and go into my mailbox, and listen to the messages without deleting any. The voicemail light stays on when I put the phone down, and the messages stay showing on the phone as new rather than changing to old.

If I delete one of the messages, the new/old count changes correctly, and the voicemail light goes out.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Andrew
