Steve B
I have a used PBX that has some semi asterisk based PBX on it that is not secure and I want to stick snomONE on it. It has a Via C3 800mhz processor and a gig of ram, will this be satisfactory for 7 extensions? It will be running centOS, not windows. mattlandis
I would say you could get away with it. pretty minimum though, don't try anything tricky. (transcoding, recording, etc)
Steve B
I would say you could get away with it. pretty minimum though, don't try anything tricky. (transcoding, recording, etc) That is what I thought, we put this PBX in last year and didn't realize the manufacture was being cheap. This box goes down once or twice a month now with the escalation of SIP attacks and has no way to block addresses except manually. It came with a three year warranty but the manufacturer says they only have a one year software warranty so if I pay them $400 for second year support they will fix it, so much for buying local. I am thinking of replacing the mobo with an atom processor do you think that might be a better choice?
mattlandis
we use an atom everyday for 15 users and pretty heavy use. running WINDOWS on top of it! runs day in and day out with NO fiddling. (we use solid hp box that looks like an appliance)
