  1. Oh, no, no, no. I am using *85 all along. I meant, that under the exact same circumstances, *85 works fine with a snom 710 but not on the Yealink. Also, if the call is already parked (by the snom, which is the one that could do it) the Yealink has no problem to pick it up by using *86. Checking on the park orbit preference, it is blank. Nothing is in the box. What should I do?
  2. Hi, I have not been able to place a call in Park Orbit using a Yealink phone. Curiously, if I do place a call on Park Orbit using a snom phone, the Yealink can pick up the call with no problem. Is there a feature that I should change on the Yealink so it can place a call on Park Orbit? I am using the latest firmware on the Yealink and the phone was configured using plug and play.
  3. Hi, This is looking very promising. I kept trying and I was able to get registration using the following setup: SIP user ID: extension@domain Authenticate ID: extension It seems that I also needed to be patient. It takes it a bit to get registered. I will find out for sure when I attempt to add a second fxo port for a different domain. One very interesting thing. With the new setup, the behavior changed a bit. Before, I had to dial something, anything, and I would get a second dial tone and then I had to dial the number from scratch. Now, with the new setup, I need to dial just once, the final destination number and what I hear is: first a very short dial tone, then a few seconds of silence and then the ringing of the call attempt. I believe this to be a more natural behavior, exception made for the few seconds of silence, but users could get used to it rather fast. Does this change in behavior tell you something? Regards
  4. Hi, Yes, I just saw that one of the options in the trunk section of a dialplan is "Call Extension". Following your line of thought, I guessed that I should place the extension number that corresponds to the FXO gateway in the replacement field. Also, I was able to register the FXO port as an extension of the domain (to my amasement). So, I did a test call. I found out that if what I dial gets me to the rule that sends me to the extension of referece, I would get a new dial tone. So, I dialed the number and bingo! it did go out through the fxo port and to the pstn. Even the caller ID was correct. Much obliged!! Now I have a cuestion. In the configuration page of the fxo port, I have two fields for identity purposes. One is "SIP user ID" and the other is "Authenticate ID". In order to get the fxo port register as an extension, I had to put the extension number in both fields. First I had tried using extension@domain but that did not work. In order to find the proper domain (because the nature of a hosted system is to be multidomain) I had to define the domain of interest with the alias of "localhost". I imagine that such thing makes it like the default domain. Then, the fxo port found its way and registered as an extension. My concern is, how am I going to register a new fxo port to a new domain? I mean, the idea is that all domains could have their fxo port. What should I had write in each of those fields? I feel that we are very close to set up this correctly. I very much appreicate your help since this feature is of vital importance to my project. Regards and thanks.
  5. Hi, thanks for answering. The idea is to be able to scale up, I mean, to be able to sign small businesses and the most likely scenario (almost omnipresent) will be that there will be dynamic IP addresses on the customers side. I already have a handful of host accounts of the dynamic dns service and I can do port forwarding on the routers of the customers. I just tried that scenario at my lab (an euphemism for my own homeĀ“s corner) and as I was saying earlier, I could receive calls but not to place outside calls. There must be some piece of configuration that I am missing. At the last attempt, I was able to place a call, but it was wrongly routed. Instead of going out (to the number I dialed) it went to an extension. The caller ID at the receiving extension showed me the ID of the trunk, as if the call was coming from the trunk, not the extension. What could it be? Regards
  6. Hi, I was able to make work the HT503 from Grandstream as a FXO Gateway trunk for the PBX in the scenario where both are CPEs (in the same LAN). Now that I am mostly using the hosted version, I would like to keep using the FXO trunks. Surely somethings have to be adjusted. It is certainly not the same having the PBX outside of the LAN. I already tried to imagine things and made some attempts and I was able to receive calls, however, placing calls I was not. Has somebody already worked with this scenario? Can I get a guide or orientation on this? Regards
  7. Hi, Sorry for the delay in answering. The problem does not happen in inbound, it happens in outbound, so it has to go out from a trunk. Normally, I would suspect for a problem in the sip provider side, however, If I call using a regular softphone on the user site the call is successful. I have not been able to replicate the problem outside of the user site. We are using the same pbx (a hosted one). At my lab, I can place the call but not on the customer premise, and at the customer premise, a simple softphone can place the call.
  8. Hi, Has anyone experienced a request time out when dialing a number where an auto attendant answers? We have been seeing that sometimes, it is as if the pbx does not get, or does not interpret that the call has been answered. I have been testing with 3 different SIP providers and the problem is the same. However, using such sip providers in a softphone (outside the pbx) the call goes through. Is there a way to fine tune?
  9. Hi, There is a label in the status of an extension that says: PIN! What does that mean? What effect does it has? Where can it be changed or reset? Regards,
  10. Got it. I just did some fine tuning. I will be alert for the next change of IP address to see if the false positives go away. Thanks!
  11. Hi, Regarding this last issue, the blacklisting, I don't mind much about having to take care of assuring a "whitelist" during first registration. That is a matter of being conscious and adding that step to the procedure. Anyway, protection is worth the pain. What really, really worries me, is the blacklisting of an IP address of already registered phones just because of a change of IP address. It should not happen. The phones have the right user and password and they are registered. A sudden change of their IP address should not trigger a blacklist event, and I just witnessed one of those. This would cause complaints from end users. Have you seen this happening? Here the incumbent carrier changes IP addresses every other week.
  12. Hi, I just got my hands on a Grandstream 1405 phone. I was able to upgrade its firmware to the latest version, but have not been able to do the auto configuration process yet. I followed the analogy of the Yealink as close as possible but obviously, something must be a bit different. Can we get a small procedure as we did for the Yealink?
  13. Finally and at last. It did register with auto provisioning. The problem was that the pbx was blocking the IP address where the phone was. Just a matter of adding that address to the trusted addresses and problem solved! Cheers.
  14. Hi, You were right, well, it was a "rom" file. And yes, just extracting it and leaving its name with the rom extension did the trick. Now I have the latest firmware, the problem, is that I just cannot get it to register. :-(
  15. It is great news that Grandstream 140X has started to get supported. Does it mean that we should be able to do PnP with them? Would it be the same procedure as with the Yealinks?
  16. Hi, I can manage the pbx remotely. I mean, I can see the PBX GUI through http and also https. That is how I get to see the log file of the PBX and see the request from the phone and that a file is been sent from the pbx to the phone. Port forwarding in the pbx router was done for all the recommended ports, even for SSH
  17. In the LAN, PnP worked wonderfully using the manual method (option 66 was not available and multicast did not worked). I have 5 710s in the LAN that achieved PnP through the manual method. Here in the remote station is where I just cannot do it. The request seems to arrive to the PBX, and the PBX responds sending the files, but suddenly, somewhere in the process the flow stops and there is no PnP. I figure it is something in the router of the remote phone, but I have tried turning off and on ALG, using the DMZ, turning the firewall off and also port forwarding to the phone (ports 80. 5060 and 5061). I have tried every combination of those things and none does the trick. Will you try a remote 710? If you PM me its mac address I could set an extension for it. Regards.
  18. I will try to keep it simple. Even if I were able to find out the right dial plan, for rest of the world long distance (non-USA or Canada) there would be the need for time out dialing since it is impossible to anticipate how many digits are needed, and once there, if we leave too short a time, the call will be sent before it should, and too long a time will desperate the user, and since too short or to too long depends on the user, somebody is not going to be happy. I will stand with the analogy of cell phones. Thanks!
  19. Hi, Up until today, every customer went happy with the scheme of pressing "Enter" to send out a call and I had been able to make my "simple" dial plans directing calls to trunks according to the first digits of a call. Now, a new prospect wants "automatic" dialing. I mean, they do not want to press enter to send out a call. After reading the wiki, I understand that I could use regular expressions but that should be done on the phone, not on the pbx. Problem being, after plug and play, there isn't a field in the GUI of the phone to do such a thing, so I am lost in the woods. Here, All national long distance is 12 digits and all start with the digits 01. All international long distance start with 00 and in the special case of the USA and Canada we know that in total (including the 00) the digits will be 13, for other countries is impossible to anticipate how many digits and the call would have to be sent out after a few seconds of waiting for more digits to be entered. All cellular, regardless of local or long distance, start with 04 and have 13 digits in total (including the 04) and any other trunk call (non extension) would have to be a local call and those are 8 digits. How can I tackle this request? Regards,
  20. Well, the pbx is running the following version: 5.0.10o (Debian64). May it be a bug in that version?
  21. WAN based PnP, unfortunately did not fly. The remote pone seems to find the pbx and the pbx seems to send the right files, but the pone does not react to that. I tried putting the pone in the DMZ, also port forwarding on the side of the pone and even deactivating the firewall on the side of the pone but none of those actions seem to help. The log from the pbx shows the following: 8] 2013/07/20 14:05:37: HTTP: Received request for file snom710-000413745EF0.htm from 187.172.138.9 [8] 2013/07/20 14:05:37: Provisioning file snom710-000413745EF0.htm looking for MAC 000413745EF0 [8] 2013/07/20 14:05:37: HTTP: file snom710-000413745EF0.htm based on template snom_710.xml is sent to 187.172.138.9 And the log on the remote pone shows the following: 1/1/2000 00:00:52 [NOTICE] PHN: Initiating PNP setup 1/1/2000 00:00:52 [NOTICE] LID: Opening TCP socket on port 7547 1/1/2000 00:00:52 [NOTICE] LID: Opening TCP socket on port 843 1/1/2000 00:00:52 [FATAL ] PHN: Phone::uboot_version:1.1.5-IFX-05.01.12 1/1/2000 00:00:57 [NOTICE] PHN: Setting server prio 1, type redirection, url: >http://200.76.106.2/prov/snom710-{mac}.htm< 1/1/2000 00:00:57 [NOTICE] PHN: Fetching URL: http://200.76.106.2:80/prov/snom710-000413745EF0.htm 1/1/2000 00:01:28 [ALERT ] PHN: WEBCLIENT: request http://200.76.106.2:80/prov/snom710-000413745EF0.htm stopped due to no response from server for con_id:1 1/1/2000 00:01:28 [NOTICE] PHN: Config setup: return code 408; 22. It worked like a charm. Ready to try wan based PnP Thanks!
  23. Oh well. Then the wiki needs mending. Tomorrow I will take another shot at it. Cheers!
  24. Hi, Must of the time plug and play happens even when I do not want it too. However, I just cannot get it to work today. Since the router does not support option 66 (it is a MicroTIK routerboard 750) and the switch may not help with multicast (it is a TP Link TL-SG1008P) I went for what I though would be a sure shot, the manual plug and play (which in a LAN, should work). Unfortunately, the 710 could not do pluy and play.
