  1. Hi, Just arrived at the customer premise. Everything is working right, however, I cannot connect to the GUI locally. I entered the local IP address and the browser cannot show the GUI as it used to. What should I do? Regards,
  2. Hi I had a problem today and I wish I had a troubleshooting guide. Perhaps there is one and I just do not know it. The situation is as follows: The sytem is a mini, running epsilon geminidis. It had been working flawlessly for a bit more than a month. Yesterday, at midnight, it send me its summary emails as usual, no problems. However, very early this morning, I received a couple of emails advicing me of trunk deregistrations. The dreadded 408 error message on both trunks at the same time (I had set two independent trunks with different SIP trunk providers). Some three hours later, one of the trunks turned 200 OK, only to lose registration one minute later. I entered into the system remotely and saw that everything was ok, however, I had no registration. It should work, but it was not. Having no other tools, I asked the local IT guy to power cycle the pbx. The result was worse. Most of the configuration on the pbx after the power cycle was lost, including the licence key. Fortunately, I had a copy of it and also a copy of a configuration that was working on december. I re-accepted the licence terms and saved the 64 bit key and did a system restore. The system came back to life. Well, at least the users can make calls. However, I lost the ability to reach the system remotely, I do not know why. So, they are working but I do not know if they are doing it at 100% since I cannot see the GUI. I will go there right now to see if I can log in on the premise. Guidance is appreciated.
  3. Mistery solved. Thanks! I will move to 4.5.1 but I am asking first to individual support for my activation key so I do not end up stuck in the twilight zone. Regads,
  4. Hi, After reading some other post, I realized that the password was not the problem, but the login. I was using "admin" and I tried also the username that I had changed in the GUI, but the good one was: "root". Using "root" for login and the password that I had set in the GUI did the trick. However, I have not been able to score yet. Having read that I could try the web interface (and it would be so much easier) I tried that but could not upgrade. It remained exactly the same even after I power circled the device. What I was able to see in the log file was: 8] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: Request downloads.snom.net from server 192.168.1.254 [8] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: Add CNAME downloads.snom.net rabbit.snom.com (ttl=603891) [9] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: erasing AAAA downloads.snom.net, id 383 retry count 0, [8] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: Request rabbit.snom.com from server 192.168.1.254 [8] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: Add AAAA rabbit.snom.com (ttl=60) [9] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: erasing AAAA rabbit.snom.com, id 384 retry count 0, [8] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: Request rabbit.snom.com from server 192.168.1.254 [8] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: Add A rabbit.snom.com 188.40.44.83 (ttl=2691) [9] 2013/01/06 06:32:24: DNS: erasing A rabbit.snom.com, id 385 retry count 0, So, I tried the SSH method but got stuck while trying to get the file. I tried with: root@snomONE-SoHo:/usr/local/snomONE # wget http://downloads.snom.net/snomONE/sheevaplug/v4.5/pbxctrl-sheeva-4.5.0. and as an answer I got: --2013-01-06 07:25:56-- http://downloads.snom.net/snomONE/sheevaplug/v4.5/pbxctrl-sheeva-4.5.0.1090 Resolving downloads.snom.net... 188.40.44.83 Connecting to downloads.snom.net|188.40.44.83|:80... connected. HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 404 Not Found 2013-01-06 07:25:56 ERROR 404: Not Found. What am I doing wrong? I would try first to have 4.5.0.1090 at home for a little while before trying to move to 4.5.1 Regards and thanks
  5. Hi, Sorry to come back to this topic that I thought I had already passed. After being able to upgrade a couple of SoHos to the 4.5.0.1090 Epsilon Geminids firmware, I just failed to do so with the SoHo I got for my own home. I wanted to have the same system with the same firmware so I can experience the same scenario as my customers. Unfortunately, with this SoHo I am getting dreaded "Acces denied" answer no matter what password I use. The current firmware I have is 2011-4.5.0.1024 Beta Corona Austrinids I already used snomONE and nosoup4U and also the password that I had changed in the normal GUI. I entered as admin as well as the user I had defined with no luck. I also factory defaulted (in the system section of the GUI) so the GUI password would be again "blank" but that did not help either. What can I do? I would really want to have the very same system at home as my current users. Regards,
  6. Can a mini running 4.5 version be upgraded to a version 5 with 40 bundle with the special disscount? or such promotion stops at the 20 bundle?
  7. Hi, I bet someone has already dealt with this issue, but I could not find such a topic in the forum. My need is the following. My end user wants to have a few trunks so the operator can answer differently according to which trunk was dialed (as in a shared office). Setting a few trunks so people can dial different businesses is not a problem. The need is to help the operator disstinguish which trunk received the call, so she can answer properly. My setup is as follows: An M9 base station with three extensions (one of them the operator) and hooked to a snom ONE SoHo. Currently, the handset display shows the DID of the calling party. What I would love to have, is an ID of the trunk. The name of the trunk would be best since it would help the operator instantly. Where and how do I do that? I bet it can be done. Thanks in advance
  8. Hi! I am still learning to read the sip log files, but yes, I believe that 200 OK is being answered, and more importantly, I stop receving alerts for status changes. I do not know what kind of effect will this fix have in the end user experience, if any, but at least, I am not going to receive about a one hundered alarms per day. You guys are the real McCoy. Thank you very much! Regards,
  9. Hi, I tried to follow the procedure working "remote" and I am not so sure that the instruction went through. Is there a way to verify the status of that flag to see if I was able to change it? Regads
  10. The device that I have is a "mini" running the 4.5.0.1090 version. I do not speak linux, but I was able to update the firmware following instructions like a "cooking recipy" and using a tool call "Putty" (or something like that). If I could have a step by step recipy, I will certainly try to do it. I believe that the end useres are not having a 100% good experience and I want to do whatever is within my reach to improve it. Thanks and regards,
  11. Hi, I sent the details of the test account over the weekend in a private message. Did it go through? Were you able to register it? During this morning I received a comment from the systems guy, from the end users, telling me that they could receive calls but were not able to place outbound calls. I checked the call log and saw that earlier during the morning they were able to place some calls. I changed the proxy address back to the literal form (as opposed to the ipv4 numbers) and immediately they were able to place calls again. The thing that still leaves me "uneasy" is that they told me that they have a percentage of unsuccessful calls. There is not suppouse to be a problem with bandwith or available co lines (I defined 10 of them). The other thing that I can do, is to add a new trunk from an alternative sip provider, splitting the traffic among the two, and see if it behaves better or not. Regards,
  12. Absolutly yes! Will do so in a few minutes. I will send you a Monterrey DID (Area code 81, Country code 52) with the ability to dial anywhere in Northamerica (Canada, USA and Mexico, landlines and cellular). Cheers!
  13. Indeed! I do take this as seriously as a hart attack. The customer represents my first formal deployment and I want them to be my showcase in the building where they are (and the incumbent carrier provides terrible service there, by the way). I am not sure where to see the SIP trace that you mention, but the graphs look continuous. A log of the alerts just by taking note of the emails looks as follows: 13:16 200 OK 13:16 401 Authorization denied 13:19 200 13:19 401 13:21 200 13:21 401 13:31 200 13:31 401 13:32 200 13:32 401 13:33 200 13:33 401 13:34 401 13:34 200 (all of the above, this one included, dated November 30) 00:40 408 Request Time Out (dated December first) 00:40 200 OK I have set the parameters as 3600 seconds for register duration and the keepalive at 60 seconds. It makes me wonder why the changes of status ocurre in less than 60 seconds intervals and there are periods of time where there are no alarms at all. What really "gives me the willies" is that in the call logs I do see a rather considerable amount of calls with no duration whatsoever (as in a failed call) where the dialed number is a valid one. I do not know how a call to a busy number shows up (hopefuly those calls with no duration were made to busy numbers, but I do not know that and I do not know if they show differently in a call log). I really appreciate the input of both of you. It asures me that I am not alone. Sincerely, thanks!
  14. Hi, I sent an email to the sip provider and they suggested me to use 3,600 seconds as resitration duration. They also told me that it would be "normal" for them to answer with a 401 on a first request and with 200 on a second attempt (something regarding encription of the password). They did not adviced anything regadring the keepalive. If it were not being for the fact that I get to see failed calls (that were correctly dialed, by the way) on the call log, I would let this thing rest. It seems to me that my end customer is not complaining because they do get their calls through (on a different attempt). The suggestion to use ipv4 is something that I have not tried and I will use it and see its impact. Thanks!
  15. Hi! I am running my first real live deployment of a snom mini with an end customer. The system is currently working but I am receiving email alerts from the pbx that tells me that the sip trunk is changing its status from 200 OK to 401 Unauthorized and then back to 200 OK and back to 401 and....you get the picture. I get close to a hundred alerts per day. Any experience with such a situation? Regards
  16. You are exactly right! Sorry, my mistake. I just saw my error. I was not choosing the trunk in the the first window, so, I was leaving the default (which is "unassigned") and because such a thing was not acceptable I was under the impression that I was unable to save. Perhaps an error message would have lead me to the right path. I just added some five or six rules and they do work beautifully. Thanks, regards, and sorry for the mistake. Carlos
  17. Hi, I have a new mini working fine, exception made that I have been unable to add more than one rule in my dial plan. If I go to the edit window, I can enter a new rule, but after hitting the "save" button, I go back exactly as I was and my new rule just does not stick. What can be happening? Regards
  18. Hi, I followed your exact footsteps and it did help a lot. After doing the chmod a+x pbxctrl, I did a kill -9 <the PID number> and after several minutes (just to be sure) I did a /etc/init.d/snomONE start and that did the trick. Now my only doubt is regarding if I should (and also how to do it) remove a file. I mean, I suppouse that one file is not needed. Doing a dir command I saw that pbxctrl and also pbxctrl -sheeva 4.5.0.1090 are both there. Is one not needed? How can I remove the one not needed? (if any) Regards
  19. Sorry guys. It turn out to be a false alarm due to my lack of acquaintance with the device. My mini has the capability for 20 extensions. I just had to create them. In the status page I was reading that I had 10, and yes, those were the 10 default accounts that come right of the box, I just had to create the rest. Error 104 regarding messages from the mini to my PC appear to be non important. It would be nice to know about them, but just to satisfy my scientific curiosity since everything seems to be working fine. Cheers! Carlos
  20. Hi, I just received a snom one mini and I have been unable to move it to have 20 extensions. I already received a license key but it does not make a difference. In the log file, I see the following error: [0] 2012/11/04 16:47:55: Administrator logged in from IP address [fe80::3508:a5a5:b6a7:5e28], session 7p09dyohxbyt6biuaywd [5] 2012/11/04 16:47:56: Could not send 558 bytes to [fe80::3508:a5a5:b6a7:5e28], error code 104 The error message repeats several times with different byte sizes. I need to deliver a 19 user solution using the mini ASAP and I am under pressure. Help is deeply needed and appreciated. Regards,
