  1. On he public Facing side of the PBX do not add a default gateway to the Internet Connection. Instead, create single routes (linux) or persistent routes (windows) to the IP address of the ITSP proxy or gateway. Create a Host entry or local DNS entry for the FQDN of the proxy or gateway. This will go a long way to lock all SIP/TRP traffic to the provider. Of course, what do you do about remote SIP phones? Your suggestions/guesses go here, These to can be easily protected too....
  2. BTW IMHO 24:00 should also be okay. We want to make sure that callers can get through at 23:59:30! You use the word "should", I'd feel better if you had used the word "will"
  3. I was most interested in multiple registrations of the same identity. Are their any usage benefits to handling inbound calls. Does the second registration allow the person to handle calls more effeciently by keeping track of the calls easier... Something to be explored....
  4. Most clients like to be in control and to accomplish this, we create manual service flags and add them to AA's, HUNTS and more to force calls to take another route. Example, AA 300 gives the caller three options and may ring 1 or more hunt groups depending on the 1 digit selection... After hours, or during random times, they may wish that inbound call to go to another AA or to a specified message box... We preceed the scheduled night service flag entry with the manual service flag and preceed the night action with another action box so that when someone that is authorized to flip the manual flag does so the calls are handled differently. We also have several manual flags preceeding auto flags.... Assign these flags to buttons on a phone and everyone can see the status and know where the calls are going.... We've added these to Holiday and closed due to weather boxes to put the client in more control, and it has reduced the number of calls we get for "Can it" functions.... Calling in from a remote phone and activating the manual flags is the remaining issue. A reply to another post, said maybe * codes function from a mailbox... I think not.... Cheers -
  5. In a busy call center environment, I'm curious how mutliple identities registered to an extension can be a benefit.Any tips are welcome. Cheers
  6. With the release of the telephony server product, is CS410/425 development dead?
  7. example Extension 204 has a button Appearance for EXT 201 A call is placed to a DID that goes to extension 201 Pick up that call at EXT 204, and the settings for EXT 204 says send call record for all calls... So the call record intended for Extension 201 and it's DID number appears as a call record and is send to the email address of the EXT 204 user.... I would think the call record would go to the original EXT 201.... Seems Odd behavior.
  8. will the new release 4.x include and updated Operating System ? The was referenced in prior CS410 replies from pbxnsip support. Thanks
  9. You being more familiar with the CRONTAB file, and based on my limited knowledge, wouldn't you simply execute in sequence the following # Minute Hour Day of Month Month Day of Week Command # (0-59) (0-23) (1-31) (1-12 or Jan-Dec) (0-6 or Sun-Sat) 0 1 * * 6 do whatever will stop the PBXnSIP service 2 1 * * 6 sync restart Personally I would like to schedule an NTP time sync. I once saw a post here discussing that problem in detail..
  10. Overlooking the Obvious, but answering a call on a snom 3xx phone and pressing hold assumes that that another call is being made and creates dial tone. What setting or procedure simply puts the caller on hold? (no DIAL tone) This may be a SNOM or PBXnSIP setting.... Never realized the issue until recently and was stumped by the client. Cheers
  11. So often questions asked, and solutions provided are often specific to just a small range of versions or operating systems. Does this Forum Tool allow you to require certain fields when submitting new posts? I've seen some that have pulldown Menus that might have version or OS listing that might make many of the posts more relavent to affected users. Just a thought, as I just had some posts that did not apply to the version we are using. Cheers
  12. More INFO We have used this in the past to send star coded to analog lines in a CS410 THE SEARCH string is 1167\*([0-9]*)@.* The REPLACEMENT String is sip:\*\1@\r;user=phone could a similar command 1167, 2268, 1169 be crafted that would send the call with an ANI that would override the EXTENSION, DOMAIN or TRUNK settings? whereas as; 1167 might force 2155551234 as the ANI and 1168 might force 2155554567 1169 might force 2155554444
  13. We have a client that has the following requirement. We have a SIP trunk with different inbound exchanges and numbers and are aliaed to different AA's. The AA's are scripted welcome to company A, B and so forth. To make an outbound call we would plan to place the ANI of each lead number that the sip provider will provide a ENUM to company A,B and C. We can easily add an ANI to the extensions, but the folks do a lot of cross work. So rather we think a dial plan and assigning the EXT to default dialplans would be better, and creating a STAR code to switch dial plans... Could you provide an example REGEX string that can place a call using a replacement for the ANI field?
  14. In v 3.2.0.3144, where is the Domain ANI set?
  15. Understood, so what fields are being dynamically displayed in the active call listing? and can this be changed to display the FROM and the URI in the invite? This is a little manipulation done by our switch. It places the TN’s LRN into the To field of the SIP message. The calling party’s info should still be in the From field, and the dialed digits will show up in the URI of the INVITE. It’s a little off-kilter, but it is the expected behavior. The question is, Will this affect the CDR information in a stock PBXnSIP installation?
  16. For all considering Bright Business SIP trunk on Fiber. We brought this up in 20 minutes... Rock Solid for two weeks now. Business Fiber Internet services 3yr deal $350 for 6MB added (3) 8 call path trunks for $125 each... Best Deal in Indiana if you can get on their fiber. The cool thing about this configuration is we assign a private IP adddress of our choosing 10.10.10.X/30 with No gateway and create a Persistent static route to the IP address of the Bright House SIP server. That second NIC of the PBX is exclusively for the SIP trunk, and we didn't violate the dreaded windows Multi-Home problems... We did ask a question though and got the following reply. The question is. when looking at the active call log, all inbound calls are being identified by the number 3175554999 I was expecting to see assigned numbers in the call log. The system is correctly processing the inbound calls to the correct hunt and agent groups though. Why For? The answer is, This is a little manipulation done by our switch. Cheers.
  17. I vote this to a a feature request then. Multi-domains makes this extremely complex...
  18. We have a client with 3 functional business units and would like to have dedicated MOH for each unit. Can this be done based upon a HUNT Group, or are we faced with 3 domains? If 3 domains are needed, can they share Global Address Books? this probably over complicates the solution if none exists within a single Domain. Any Thoughts? Cheers
  19. CMC are enabled in the SNOM phones, They show as a soft button on the phone during a call. In Bound or OUT. The $variable for the CMC must be added to the CDR output to be included in the CDR file... For non SNOM envorinments, we've toyed with all calls send a trace, and program extracts the trace data and does a client matchup.. Nothing to talk much about yet, but experiments with EMail2DB went well..
  20. No this was a fresh install, with a 3 minute license to test the configuration requirements for a new SIP provider that we have never used in the past. They reject the registration attempt with 400. We can remove / reinstall and test again... What can we investigate and document befor the test and afterwards to compare? Thanks
  21. We are using a BrightHouse SIP trunk, and are using Outbound Proxy IS this supposed to send registrations? Of course they are rejecting the registration... Other than that we are functional. What do we do to disable these registrations? [5] 2010/01/22 11:08:16: Registration on trunk 2 (BrightHouse) failed. Retry in 60 seconds [2] 2010/01/22 11:08:16: Trunk status BrightHouse (2) changed to "400 Bad Request-URI" (Registration failed, retry after 60 seconds)
  22. Unfortunately this is not the case. Does the search only process the first and last name fields? IF so, we may be forced to incude the assigned speed dial code in the first name field. If we were to do this, would the search results field be sorted numerically based? The first name field would be 4143543 4134234 424343. The problem here is the results would not show the assigned home and cell phone next to each other. the real solution is the add a scrollable full result window or add a next page to the existing window.
  23. That makes logical sense if the speed dial numbers were important. In our case, the client has 300+ speed dials and growing. We defined speed dials as follows *41 (4 digit employee number is their cell phone) (The 4 digit number is randomly assigned by HR software) *42 (same 4 digit number is there home phone) hundreds of outbound calls are placed daily to these people.. The Search entry seems to be inconsistent Searching for JOH shows the three Johnsons but J does not show any of Johnsons.. nor does J* It seems the search tool only uses the first name.. Did we miss something. Thanks
  24. We have a PBX that recently experienced SIP TRUNK registration errors, but the problems have settled down. We are not having registration failures in the LOG file, but do have the following.. Only 1 Trunk is defined basically a * send anything configuration... What and why would I see the could not find a trunk (1 trunks) Message, followed by the trunk 4 message? Is there a logical explanation? Thanks [8] 2010/01/18 07:50:14: Could not find a trunk (1 trunks) [8] 2010/01/18 08:13:45: Last message repeated 2 times [8] 2010/01/18 08:13:45: Trunk 4 (XXX2331534) has outbound proxy udp:2XX.1YY.220.220:5060
