HI;
the system will allow you to send your voice mail to multiple email addresses HOWEVER, it will only send the attachment to one of them.
why is this and how do i fix it???

1) How much bandwidth do i need per simultaneous call?
2) if i am using the calling card feature do i need doublebandwidth? ie is it considered two channels? one incoming and one outgoing?

I know I can have multiple phones registered to an extension, that is one of the features that sold me on the product. This doesn't help me when someone has a home office that does not have a reliable, high speed internet connection. For example, VoIP over satellite internet does not work well in my experience and there are still parts of the country that satellite is the only 'afordable' option for high speed internet many homes.
Some of our clients would like to have both their Cell phone and their POTS line in the PBX for call forking and to use the DISA. I don't think it would be a problem if there was an option in the system that said, use Cell Phone or use Home Office Phone in the system, as I can see how calling both could potentially cause problems.

is there anyway to do this when using a sip trunk? like a call hunt to outside numbers? like home lines/cell phones?

Any insight from the SIP logging? Maybe a request timeout after about 30 seconds?
how can i change the request timeout to a little longer?

If you are using a FXO interface check the gain settings. Probably the signal is just too low. It becomes very obvious when you hear the loud IVR prompts and then a relatively low volume recording.
so its an issue with my PRI card/software?

Attended transfer or blind transfer? I guess it must be blind?
There is a RFC for updating the caller-ID. But the support in existing SIP devices is "weak"....
The way they are transferring is by hitting the transfer key then entering the extension and hitting transfer again right away...thats a blind transfer??

Hmm. It could be the we have to provison this specific device a different firmware than the other phones. I remember something like the conference phones need a newer firmware than the good old 2.2.2. If that's the case we are a little bit in trouble, because we have only one tftp directory.
Hmm. Maybe we need a kind of "virtual" tftp directory for specifc devices. Otherwise I don't see how we can have different firmware versions for different devices! Ouch.

i figured out how to get it woprking. basically i was using option 66 to push the server setting to the phones. for all the phones it worked but for some reason the IP7000 didnt like taking instructions from the windows dhcp server so i turned off option 66 then i entered the server options manually and then the plug and play worked no problem!

How can i setup (if at all) that when a call comes in to the receptionist and she transfers the call to an internal user that the caller id should show the callers number and not the receptionist extension number?
this is an urgent issue as the person does not always want to speak to the caller however they think the call is coming from the receptionist!
Please advise asap

i have clients complaining that when they make outbound calls many times they are getting an error beep beep beep after 5 or six rings instead of getting voicemail or something....it sounds like the call is timing out or something....

I assume that you have audio_en, audio_xx (e.g. audio_de) and audio_moh installed?
Some carriers cannot deal with early media, and then you need to set "Ringback" to "Message 180" on the trunk.
i am using a PRI line with a Sangoma PRI card and i changed the media to Message 180 but they still do not get ringback before the hitting the auto attendant.
pls advise

HI, i have clients who are complaining that when people leave them voice messages it sounds very quite and difficult to hear...should i tell them to get a hearing aid or is there something i can do about it??

Okay, so the phone does go to the PBX...
Did you drop the Polycom files into the tftp directory? And also, is there at least one extension set up for plug and play? Check the "generated" directory if you can spot the phone's MAC address there.
all my phones are plug and play! i have approx 80 registrations!

You can use sftp (in most Linux systems) or psftp ir SecureSSH to load the files on the system. See http://wiki.pbxnsip.com/index.php/Installi...th_secure_shell on how to log in.
hmm...not too familiar with Linux but ill give it a shot...but if possible please add the functioin of adding wav files to agent groups in furter edition of the software.

What is the "Generate passwords" (in admin/settings/ports)? Maybe the phone cannot pull down the configuration? Do you see and TFTP requests in the log file of the PBX?
it is setup to alway allow.

i have two Polycom IP7000's that wont register...i downloaded the latest files from Polycom website and unzipped them into the tftp folder but when the phones try to boot up they just get stuck on "updating initial configuration".

Hi i have a client who was just setup using a windows server and a PRI card/line...they are complaining of major call quality issues mainly on oubound calls...the people they are calling are saying they sound distant etc....please advise what steps i can take to resolve this!

You can do a trick/workaround - just record it with *98 and then repace them on the file system. You usually can easily see by the timestamp what file you have to replace. Also you can quickly listen to them before replacing them.
On a windows system this is what i would do but because i am using a CS 410 in this case how would i do that??

Addition: You can use *98*1 to record the first message, *98*2 for the second and so on until *98*5. That was introduced in 3.1.
This is what i needed. thank you. in future versions may i suggest that you integrate this into the basic mailbox features. ie when users hit 4 to record a message it should prompt them to record more than one message as this way makes it more confusing for the less technilogicaly advanced clients!

If you are using UDP for sending SIP packets the phones cannot receive the packets because of UDP fragmentation. You have to switch to TCP transport layer (or TLS, if you have a certificate that the phones accept).
do i change this from the phone or from the pbxnsip server? all the phones are connected through PnP. also are there any disadvantages to switching to the TCP protocol?

i have a client with a polycom 650 with two sidecars attached. they are set up using PNP and i entered in the extension for that extension to monitor the calls of multiple extension numbers but for some reason they will not show up on her screen or sidecars? i have tried rebooting the phone numerous times and clearing registrations but that does not seem to do it...please advise?

i have a client who would like to be able to record muliples greetings...for example on a regular day he would have a greeting that says "thank you for calling i am not at my desk please leave a message" but if he is out of town he would like the message to say "i am out of town etc" is there any way for him to record both messages and then just be able to switch between the two of them by selecting 9?
