Hi;

a client of mine purchased the ADHOC recording add on for his CS410...when using a softphone he can record no problem using the in call codes but on his Grandstream phones he cannot get it to work...i dont see any dial plan on the phones themselves that would block it and when pressing the * code the caller can hear it but the recording does not start....anyone have any ideas how to get this working?

What I am looking to do is setup speed dials from the pbx interface that would be pushed to the phone. If I can do the address book I guess that would work? Question is how to push it down? I have items in the address book but they do not show on the phone!

You can push down the address book and BLF's. So you want to program a button on the polycom to call an external number? How about creating an extension and do a CFA - call forward always? YOu can dial the blf by pressing on the key and it would work the same way. You would burn some extensions but that should work.

I am not sure this is the one you are looking for "audio_en/ex_enter_number.wav" - "please enter the destination number, terminate the number with the pound key"
In any case, you can increase the log level to 8 and see these messages on the log

"[8] 20090616112109: Play audio_en/ex_enter_number.wav"

That will tell you the actual file name that you are looking for.

Hi, i have a client who when receiving inbound calls the callers do not hear the first three seconds of the auto attendant. while this may seem unprofessional to his clients it also presents a proble on his calling card platform that his callers do not hear the prompt to enter their phone number and are complaining that they do not know what to do.

is there any way to setup an option in the trunk to delay the playback of the IVR for three seconds untilll the call connects properly?

also in the meantime what is the name of the prompt he should overwrite with a manual pause for the prompt "please enter the number you wish to dial followed by the pound"?

a client who was monitoring his system most of the day and saw no more than 6/7 simultaneous calls but the graph showed the max as 14...how is that possible?

Hi;

i have a client using the hosted system.

he would like to accomplish the following:

1) he wants that his service provider should send all inbound calls to his pbx...then the system should automatically forward the call out over another trunk but not to a phone number, basically just pass the call through to his PRI which will take care of it from there.

2) he wants that when a user on the other end makes a phone call, the PRI should send the call out to pbxnsip and then pbxnsip should send it out with the caller id that sent the call originally.

im not sure if i have explained myself clearly so if anyone needs any clarification then please let me know asap if can this be done?

Nope. I guess this will be pretty boring as version 3 does not fully support video yet. You first have to establish a audio connection before you can include video.

i have a client that bought the VVX1500, i explained to him that most features wouldnt work but he wanted it anyway.

I believe that feature was a feature of the new Polycom firmware. There is in the XML file something called "call.directedCallPickupString", which is set to the pickup code of the PBX.

What you can do:

1. Clear the pickup code from the feature code page; at least during the provisioning

2. Manually configure the Polycom device and take the code out (based on the generated filed)

3. Work on the permissions of the accounts and define who is allowed to pick up calls from where.

4. Or use the Polycom provisioning template (polycom_sip.xml, as support for that file), put it into the html directory and set the "directedCallPickupString" to "" in the XML file.

the issue turned out to be a new feature that Polycom installed to have the calls actually ring on the attendants desk. i was able to turn off the sound of the ringer from the phone itself but did not find the option to stop the display from showign all incoming calls to attended extensions...any help would be appreciated!

Once the call is initiated the PBX will think that it was the extension who initiated the call. If not, it will think this was just a call to the calling card account. This is a little confusing, yes...

In the next major version we will split the CDR into trunk CDR and account CDR. The trunk CDR is about what who has to pay to the carrier; the account CDR is about what user made what call and how long a call was on hold and so on. I believe we will not be able to address all questions with one CDR type only.

any timeframe (even approxiamate will do)?

i have just upgraded the phone system to .3177 and to latest firmware and boot version of the polycom config and am experiencing the following issue.

when a call comes in to any extension being monitored by the receptionists (Polycom IP650 with two sidecars each) the call rings on the receptionists phone too.

i have tried using the following command to turn off call_pickup (http://<pbx-address>/reg_status.htm?save=save&offer_pickup=false) but it does not work...this is extremely annoying for the receptionists who are monitoring around 30 users and their phone is ringing off the hook.

HI;

when i make a regular call from a registered phone and am trying to call 9787462777 but i mistakenly enter 978746277 and miss a number or add a number then it will show up in the call log even though the call does not go through.

However, when i call in from my cell using the calling card account and i make the same mistake, it will not show up the number unless the call actually goes through so if i make an outbound call using the calling card and it doesnt go through i will not be able to see a record of that call in the call log.

this is an important logging point for my client who is using this system as a calling card platform and needs to see if there are dtmf issues when users call CS to complain that calls dont go through.

We do a exact match today. But we can update the software to make use of country code and area code to match either 7/10/11 digits (US)

Just to confirm, you can mak it that the cell redirection page will only look for the last 7 digits in the phone number so that no matter what prefix the carrier sends through the caller will always be able to autheticate with caller id?

also what is timeframe to get this done? the client will sign conditional agreement but they need this done asap.

Why can't you put exactly the same thing that you would receive from the carrier? If the carrier sends 7 digits, then put 7 digits on the cell field. If they send 10 digits then put 10 digits. AFAIK, carriers won't change this (7 or 10 digits) on every call.

but the problme is that different carriers send different numbers of digits! that is why iam wondering if there is a way to always make it just look at the last 7 digits because from every carrier they for sure send the last 7 digits.

Eh... Multiple area codes per domain? Then you must leave the area code field empty; and that also means you loose the value of that field.

You can strip the last seven digits out of the Request-URI or To-header of the request in the trunk. For example, when you put something like "!([0-9]{7}$)!\1" into the setting "Send call to extension" of the trunk, then the other digits are ignored on inbound calls.

Check the XML files in the user_alias directory if they have the right alias name. It will work if you don't use the country code; it might also work if you don't put in an area code while creating new accounts.

right now when i enter 1234567 into the cell field and call in from phone number 9781234567 it does not authenticate using my number.

if i put in the string you listed above in the "send call to extension" field then how will the call know which extension to go to? i am not looking to direct calls directly to users extensions i just need for the system to recognise the number so that to make an outbound call using disa does not require entering a pin.

please advise.

First of all, all that can only work if you enter the area code in the domain. I assume that has been done.

I believe the JavaScript is currently too dumb to perform this job. But internally the number should be stored in the right format (check the xml file in the extensions directory, check the last one written). I just checked it and it did it this way.

no this is for multiple area codes.

basically the client is planning on using the system as a calling card platform. he needs the system to only look for the last seven digits of the call so that way when the carrier only sends through 1234567 of phone number 978 1234567 the system should still recognize it as an internal number.

is this not possible?

i need to know if there is any way that the sysem can be setup to recognize and authenticate the user with the last 7 digits of the phones number.

ie if my number is 978-1234567 i should be able to enter just 1234567 into the cell redirection page and my number should be allowed to use disa/calling card without further authentication.

this is necessary for calling card users who are calling from abroad and different carriers send different number of digits.

please advise asap.

If the phones are on the same LAN, then you should not have any issues configuring the Polycom phones

Using pbxNsip 3.0.3144 currently on Polycom v2.

This is inside the same LAN but the network is setup with a DMZ.

I have other Polycoms that are working fine and even this one is registering however it will not pull new config
