  1. Hi;

    i got a frantic call from a client yesterday claiming that all phones were down.

    upon logging into the system i noticed that it said "this product is not licensed" after ensuring that the dongle was in firmly i proceeded to restart the pbx service as that was the only way for it to "reallize" the license was there!

    i hope this wont happen again but bringing it to your attention to make sure this is not an issue in the future.

    (i am using version .3107)

  2. Hi this is a regular call...and it is not putting the call on hold...what is happening is a follows.

    call number one comes in and the receptionist picks up and is talking to the caller. then a second call comes in and instead of just hearing beeps all of a sudden she cannot hear the original caller anymore but the caller can hear her! the only way she can get audio back for call number one is to put the call on hold and then resume the call!

    The are using the polycom 650 and this issue only started on Friday when I updated the system to 3106...

  3. Unicast is not a good idea with 90 users. You can use the multicast mode which sends the RTP to a IP address/port without sending out INVITE packets. If that IP address is a multicast address (starting with 224.x.x.x), interested devices can play it back. snom phones do that and if you use Plug and Play then they are automatically set up for the first multicast paging group in their domain.

    i am using Polycom phones....so in the address field what ip address do i put there? sorry but the concept is new to me...

  4. Hi;

    i have an offic with approx 90 users...what is the best way to setup the paging and how do i go about it?

    i currently have them set on UNICAST but recently when i hit the extension number it just gives a fast beeping sound...i look in the logfile and it says it cannot find the extension but then says that paging would cause too many active calls so im guessing i have to go to multicast.

    is there any easy way to set this up? my phones and server are using an ip address of 10.0.10.XX

  5. Is that a regular call coming in? Or is it a intercom call? The PBX cannot put an ongoing call on a phone on hold, only the phone can do that. There was an issue with a Linksys phone some time ago; Linksys argued this was a feature, because the intercom might be an life-or-death call. Not sure if they changed their opinion in the meantime.

  6. Yes. User agent = phone.

    Phones generally send the remove request if you perform a soft-restart on the phone.

    System may not find the registration if the registration timeout has already expired for that phone.

    I have the registration refresh at 60 seconds as i am using TCP i am not getting this error once i get it in blocks of around 20 lines!

    is this an issue that needs to be fixed?

  7. THESE ARE REGISTRATION ISSUES IM GETTING...THE PHONES ARE WORKING BUT THIS DOESNT LOOK RIGHT! IS THIS OK?

  8. Probably no restart necessary!

    Im having a similar issue.

    i have polycom phones and i am giving out DHCP directly from my Windows Server. the problem is that the phones dont have access to the internet..what is the best way to get these phones to pick up the time without the polycoms overwriting what i put in as the time server?

    <PHONE_CONFIG>

    <OVERRIDES tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.stop.date="1" tcpIpApp.sntp.daylightSavings.start.date="1" tcpIpApp.sntp.address="http://10.0.10.16"/>

  9. What type of phones are you using?

    We had the same situation and resolved it by using the Directory feature in our Aastra telephones.

    At that time, about a year ago, PNXNSIP did not provide the Called Party info to the receptionist.

    Maybe it has changed since then.

    So, look in your phone and see if it has any type of local directory that can be programmed with your extension numbers.

    HI;

    i am using Polycom phones, IP650, IP501 and IP320's.

    it wont be fun to have to enter every extension into three or more phones address books....is there no way PBXnSIP can resolve the name once the extension number is entered?

  10. If it happens every couple of minutes: Yes, either your refresh time for NAT is too long or you just have a router there that is not suitable for VoIP.

    If it happens once per day: The carrier is rotating IP addresses. There is nothing that you can do apart from mailing them and asking them when you can have a IPv6 address...

    ok but i have the following questions:

    1) it happens all day to different extensions...or every time i reboot the server.

    2) what do you mean by "the carrier is rotating IP addresses"?

    3) we have a static public ip address and the phones get their local IP using windows DHCP server with option 66 on the phone server?

    4) right now the internet access is coming into the phone server through a SonicWall router, but the phone calls are going out using a PRI card from Sangoma. do you think it would make life simpler to just switch out the sonicwall for a basic Linksys router?

    please advise

    Thank you;

  11. Hi;

    when the receptionist forwards or transfers calls to one of 100 employee she would like to see the name of the user at the extension she entered once she dials the 3 digit extesion.

    is this possible?

    pls advise.

  12. Hi;

    in a large enviornment of 100 users it becomes difficult to monitor calls...users do not need to know who is on the phone when however in the past system they had, when they called another extension they were notified if the person was on a call so they did not repeatedly call that user, they could either leave a message or just hang up.

    i know that there is an option to offer camp on but will this notify the caller that the person is on the phone? or will it give the same message whether they are on the phone or just no picking up?

    pls advise.

    thank you;

  13. i have also used this feature many times with no issues. i am not using this as a calling card account i have people who have extension numbers calling into the system with the immediate prompt to make an outbound call...they have the regular dial plan in the system from what they use when they are in the office at their desks!

    i will try sip logging please let me know if yo have any other ideas

  14. I guess you have a dial plan? Turn SIP logging on - maybe there is something being rejected from the PSTN gateway. I use this feature practically every day and it works fine for me...

  15. i have tried many times to use the outbound option from my cell however when i enter the number of the destination i want to call it tells me every time "the call cannot be established" i know the numbers are going through becuase i see the DTMF signals in the logfile but after that it cannot connect and i am not sure why...any help please?

  16. Hello,

    We are going to have several domains set up in our installation, let's say site1.com and site2.com. Site 1 and 2 have their own accounts, and their own numbers, let's say they both have accounts 101 and 101.

    What I need to know is, can site1.com on acct. 101 call site2.com on their acct. 101, or any account for that matter? Basically, can site1.com and site2.com communicate between each other.

    Among this, we want to make some kind of alias for '101'@site1.com to be say, a fake 10-digit number. So site2.com could call site1 and not even know it, since they are just calling this 10-digit number.

    This may be simple, I'm not sure about where to start with this. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ryan

    HI;

    if both sites have access to the internet there is no problem trunking the two pbx's together.

    all you have to do is create a trunk on each end and put in the public ip address or FQDN in the domain field of the trunk.

    the simplest way to set it up is to keep the extension numbers different i.e SITE1 should be 1XX and SITE2 should be 2XX.

    as far as putting in an alias with a full 10 digit number im not 100% sure but there should be a way to create the dial plan to first check if SITE2 has such a phone number and if not then dial out using a SIP trunk or whatever you will be using for that.

    if you need any help please let me know.

  17. The problem is that we delete the file after the first email is out. It is hard to keep track of the "last" email. If we send just one email you can see who else receives the voicemail; though this seems to me the best way to solve this problem.

    Workaround is to use a email-list, so that the email server "explodes" the email to the various recipients.

    im not understanding what you are saying? if the problem is tracking the email then it shouldnt allow to send out the email twice. and if it deletes the file from the system then how come the file is still in the mailbox? why cant we just send the attachment twice?

    also even if i had to do the workaround how would i create an email list in the system?
