  1. they ussually login to the phone, just like the computer at the station. they need to login to use it. there is no Guest user on the machines.

I get what you are saying. why dont u make a regular seat, and assign that that phone with two identities, one with hotdesk and one with regular user, assign one line key for the regular user and the other for hotdesk? use the same regular user for all the hotdesks.

  2. well we dont have it in v68, it should be fine for the time being. eventually users will understand, i dont want to be the instructor with passkeys.

so how do we get started with recordings in the cloud?

for the time being, can we store it locally and S3, until we know its working.

We also added a checkbox for those that explicitly do want or do not want to use passkeys. At the risk on being on the leading edge, we still believe it's the way forward and in a year or so we will laugh about the question wether or not to use passkeys. But in some environments it makes sense to disable them and not have that pop-up come up all the time.

Can an admin disable it on the system or tenant level? Or is the checkbox just for users.

  4. Zabbix automatically graphs things for you too. for example this is current calls. over 30 days

I use zabbix to monitor everything, all my client Modems and routers, servers, websites. I manage a lot of pharmcies i monitor all the fridge temps. its really flexible.

  5. ya i have alraedy made a template, i check /rest/system/status

    /rest/system/config?name=license
    return "".

    maybe you meant /rest/system/license?

my next move would be to make a discovery tempalte. based on: /rest/system/domaininfo
currently when i make a new tenant i add them manually to zabbix to monitor the hostname, and ports and ssl cert.
but if i make a discovery template i can have zabbix auto add the tenants to zabbix automatically.

The way we envisioned the usage is that the user logs in using credentials, passkey or whatever and then navigate to the wallboard, disables the screen saver on the OS, puts it on full-screen. The wallboard has a special way of keeping the session token so that if the PBX would have to restart or the connection gets lost, it would stay on the wallboard. This should work for a long time. This would assume that the underlying PC never shuts down.

Passwords in URL are a bad idea, see e.g. https://www.politico.eu/article/dutch-reporter-hacked-eu-council-interview/ especially when they are visible to a lot of people! 😣

The question is what happens if you reboot the PC underneath, e.g. because it lost power or a software update triggered a restart. ATM it would mean that the user would have to log in again.

thats why its better to just script it and have the script run on start.

  7. i think it supports tls1.2. the other phone on the other PBX are on that.

It used to work. i remember when we put http for provisioning, it would first send the root CA install it, the phone would reboot and change the provisioning to https, and then finally provision the phone as it should. something broke. idk what it is.

Can we set it up for that. i dont need the VVX 00 series going away.

  8. No I disagree, the way it’s done is fine. It can be better.

one major improvement will be to encode it mp4 to save space.

i have seen a more fancier setups where it’s a single recording. With stereo audio. Left channel is one side, right channel is the other. And then they have time stamps of when there was transfers and what not. So during playback they can chop up the audio into pieces.

I manage a lot of call centers, mainly they are on five9 and some others. They all have something different.

but new features are coming out. Where they are getting into Audio sentiment and the AI is giving that call center agent a score. Also they now have audio transcription. So they can easily search audio files by text.

also other features I have seen, which I am working on it right now with another PBX. We take the recordings and upload it to the CRM software, so a manager can listen to all the calls from within a single place.

  9. I think this is a big feature. I am really looking forward to it. I would move to v69 just for this.

just keep in mind. We may have multiple PBX pointing to the same s3 bucket. So I don’t know the “file system” design you guys are considering.

how will the recording work? Will is be saved locally first and then uploaded?
what if the s3 bucket is offline or credentials are wrong. How will the PBX handle that?
email notification if s3 fails after a day.

api? To list call recording file name, with timestamp and file size?

api? Summary to just list number of files per tenants, and total disk space used for that tenants. Needs this for billing purposes.

Will it be a standard s3 complaint api where I can use any service provider that supports the s3 api. Like Backblaze or cloudflare?

  10. I deleted that phone and entered it again. it seem to work.

The issue was when i edited the phone it would not bring the current make and model from the settings. see screenshot in previos post, to it wouldnt save it.

now i have another issue, i cant update the buttons.

    look at the phone logs.

it has to do with SSL certs.
