  1. There are two different companies, CompanyA and CompanyB. There are total of 6 users. They have 6 phones, they want Line1 on all the phones to be CompanyA and they want Line2 on all the phones to be CompanyB. Outgoing calls shuold display the correct CallerID depending on which Line the user picks. As far as incoming calls, it should ring on the correct line, depending on which DID was called.

How would I be able to set this up?

Also how would i handle transfers?

it has been written that a version will be released at the end of week 25. beta will it solve this problem?  I noticed that it was difficult to adjust the sound also on the application when a call is in progress..

Yes i have reported this issue also.

  3. I don’t know if I know how to communicate. It seems you missed the point.

    1) Faxes are failing for version .20 vs .12

    2) failed fax shows up in the web gui and we can not mark it as read and is 0KB file size

    3) faxes that were successful get marked as read when you click on it.

    4) weird issue when I tried to delete failed faxes, after deleting the second one, all faxes including successful and failed disappeared from the web gui. I don’t know how to replicate.

  4. Ext 101 called the client, and said we will transfer you to your case worker, Ext 101 puts the caller on hold. calls ext 109, to tell him, client is about to get trasnfered. then ext 101 transfered the call to Ext 109, in the call logs it shows that 101 called 109. when i expand it i see three sets of recordings, first one is 4 seconds which is the call between 101 and 104 second one is 5:25 seconds, which is the recording between the 109 and client, last one is 5:54 which is the full recording from the moment ext 101 called the client until ext 109 was done with the call.

The recordings are fine, this is what i would expect. but the call logs show:

    FROM: Front Desk (101)

    TO: Extension Name (109)

so when we are searching for the phone number to pull recordings, we could not search by caller-id.

How we have better way of logging these calls?

  5. One issue i see right away. while the fax is in progress, the user sees the fax item under voicemail in the users web GUI.

once the fax is "completed", when you try to download the file, it still shows as "NEW".

i started to delete the faxes that failed from the users web gui, after deleting the second one, all of a sudden all the faxes are missing now. logged out, logged back in and nothing. its all gone. this is ridiculous. attention has to be given to these bugs.

  6. i just upgraded to 68.0.20, one of my clients does a lot of faxing. incoming faxes are failing. it shows up in the clients user portal as a fax but when you try to download it, it a 0KB file. looking at the files on the server, those 0KB files do not exist.

FAX-wise there was only the change with the paper format which is not related to transmission. IMHO that would not explain any difference. We had looked into ECM, however as far as I remember it had to be manually enabled on our test FAX machine and we believed that it would be one of those lesser used (million) FAX features that has no practical relevance.

Most faxes are not sent by old fax machine. But either ATA adapters or I would say majority are some sort of eFax solution, which probably has ECM enabled.

At one point I was trying to use Vodia as a fax server. After some test I realized it would not work, it’s very slow. We are talking something that would take 25-50 seconds would take 4-5 minutes with Vodia.

Does anyone use inbound fax on this version?  We have reports that there is a lot of solid grey in a number of faxes.  I may revert to an earlier version - last was 6.0.12

you noticed the fax issue when you upgrade from 68.0.12 to 68.0.20?

68.0.16 and 68.0.18 both had some changes in fax. have you tried those?

This is a huge headache every time we upgrade a system. I like the Vodia PBX as a whole, but support could be much better in cases like this. We as users and providers shouldn't have to do trial and error to solve these problems. I understand that different carriers have different settings and criteria, but with the user base this software has, support should be keeping results of theses support cases in a KB that they make available to us.

    +1

    every release should have

    • notes about breaking changes
    • known issues

A KB would be awesome as far as issues and things to do to troubleshoot it.

I would love to see a roadmap of bug fixes and features, and what is the target version of those features. Still trying to figure out Release cycle, the last few have been every 2 weeks. but before that it was sort of random.
