Friedom-Tech
Hi; in a large enviornment of 100 users it becomes difficult to monitor calls...users do not need to know who is on the phone when however in the past system they had, when they called another extension they were notified if the person was on a call so they did not repeatedly call that user, they could either leave a message or just hang up. i know that there is an option to offer camp on but will this notify the caller that the person is on the phone? or will it give the same message whether they are on the phone or just no picking up? pls advise. thank you;

Yes. It will say that the person is on the phone and you (the caller) can press 1 for a call back (Camp On) when the person is done with their call or press 2 to leave a message in the Voice Mail Box. _______________________________________________________________________________ "or will it give the same message whether they are on the phone or just no picking up?" If they are not on the phone then there is NO Call Back Offer Message, it will ring until the Call Forward No Answer Timer expires and the call goes to the Voice Mail Box. Vodia PBX
i know that there is an option to offer camp on but will this notify the caller that the person is on the phone? or will it give the same message whether they are on the phone or just no picking up? Right, there is a setting on domain level. If the other person does not pick up, the caller will hear ringback for some time (e.g. 20 seconds). When the other user is busy (no call waiting) then the PBX will offer the camp on immediately. The tricky case is when the other use has call waiting enabled on the phone. Then the only way to make that case working is that like Bills said the number of "lines" to that user is set to "1".
