rudik
Hi There, I hope this post will not be removed Does SNOM has something like a mobile phone client like SWYX does ? http://www.swyx.com/products/devices-and-softphones/mobile-integration.html Or does SNOM rely completely on soft-clients from other developers (for the mobile environment) ? Thanks for any answer, Rudi
mattlandis
Rudik, are you by any chance a previous 3cx forum user? ;-) yes, snom relies entirely on others. Check counterpath.
Vodia PBX
Working on it... The biggest problem seems to be the graphical artwork.
mattlandis
Working on it?! And the artwork is holding it up!!?? (i just want to make sure there is not a misunderstanding here) Is this for iphone, android or what mobile platform? Is this a voice client or a web interface like pac? This would be hugely good move. I'd love to see it. It is also one of the most requested items on snomONE ideascale I see: http://snomone.ideascale.com/a/dtd/mobile-version-of-user-portal/99658-11275
Pablo
Working on it... The biggest problem seems to be the graphical artwork. Did this ever come to fruition?
Vodia PBX
Well in the meantime we have worked on the UCClient, which is Windows/PC based. Also, with the PVA, we can offer a lot of advanced features already over the standard voice connection to the phone. Looking at the connection prices these days that is also a very viable option which avoids the hassle of installing an app and fighting with the carriers about using the data connection. I personally installed a SIP soft client on Android, but it was disappointing. The Wifi connection was on/off, and the battery was empty in a jiffy. I don't thing we would be able to solve those fundamental problems. For those who do want to go the App route, there is a lot of choices in the smart phone area. On the smart phone most users just need basic call, which is usually no problem with SIP.
