Admin: Send IM to all

is there a way to use the IM feature to send a message from the Admin to all devices, without having to use a separate extension account as sender and without adding all the extensions manually in the To field?

i think you need to type in all the accounts.

 

Did you try sending it to a ring group? (just to rule out that that works)

Not yet, as the first question is how to send an IM without having a real extension to send it from its weblogin

why don't you want to us an extension to send it from? i'm trying to get use-case.

if you have unlimited edition extensions are a dime a dozen. ;-)

It's not about a limit, it's about to avoid having all of the users trying to call the senders number or to send something back

 

The customer want's to use this as some kind of emergency notification of all users or for downtime etc, which should be send out besindes the regular maintenance annoucement emails.

-also finish IM with "don't reply"

-have the source email not registered to a phone so they only get vm. On vm say this extension is NOT monitored -or- have no vm.

Yeah, those are good ideas, thanks.

 

But the main part is to have a "send to all" option instead of copy & pasting a few hundreds of extension numbers into the To field

We are adding the support for star (*) on the "Destination" field on the IM page. That should take care of all.

 

Note that you still need to use user portal to send the IM.
