Joe Williams Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 SnomONE 4.5, handsets are 300s and 320s. Each extension account has call forwarding configured to overflow an incoming call to a hunt group on busy or NA. When the users are away from their desks, they hit the DND button expecting the extension to show as busy and the call to overflow. I'm almost certain that this was the behaviour when the system was first installed! What is actually happening is that the caller is getting an 'unavailable' message instead. How can we configure the system to overflow calls when DND is set rather than rejecting them? Quote
Vodia PBX Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 We have introduced a setting in 5 that determines what to do when the extension is busy (busy on busy). Depending on that the redirection settings are used or a busy code is sent back to the caller. I am not sure if that solves your problem; if you can install a small test system somewhere with a free license where you can test if this works for you on 5.2.0. Quote
Joe Williams Posted March 1, 2014 Author Report Posted March 1, 2014 Would the upgrade from 4.5 to 5.2 be free of charge? Quote
Vodia PBX Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 No. But you can use your V4 activation code as coupon for the V5 license. Quote
Joe Williams Posted March 3, 2014 Author Report Posted March 3, 2014 Right. The customer is not going to pay that much, even with a 50% discount, to possibly solve a problem. Surely you can confirm what the expected behaviour of an extension with DND set is on 4.5? Quote
Vodia PBX Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 On 4.5, DND means that calls are being rejected; however you can define exceptions of people who can call the person on DND. Typical scenario is a boss who is on DND when the secretary is available. The secretary can still call him. On 4.5 there is also that boss/secretary feature where the boss can turn redirection on/off with a button on a snom phone. It is not DND, but could also be a solution to the problem. Quote
