ahennis@voicespring.net
Is documentation available for the app?
ahennis@voicespring.net
I have a test PBX running 3.5.0 running and would like to try this app. Is there a list of ports that need to be open to my PBX for the app to work over the Internet? Hopefully it will work over port 443. Regards, Alan
Vodia PBX
The app is nothing else than a glorified version of the user portal running in a WebView on Android, with a few pages in the app itself, so that it can work. That means regarding ports you can treat the app just like a web browser.

ahennis@voicespring.net
I do not allow port 80 into my PBX, only 443. The app does not bring up the account info screen unless I allow port 80. Is there a setting to force the app to use port 443? Putting https in the PBX URL does not seem to work. Vodia PBX
Actually I believe it would make sense to always go to port 443, as the user is about to enter sensitive information. OTOH the problem is that many PBX out there are not having valid certificates, so that WebView might not allow the connection.
ahennis@voicespring.net
We don't have valid certs. You get a gold star!!!
Vodia PBX
Well, this might get a little off topic, but the cert topic is a problem with most roll-outs. We were thinking about building our own little trust chain with the Vodia Root CA and providing certificates to PBX installations, at least for the hosted PBX installations. It would require that users have to add the Vodia Root CA to their trusted root list, but this way we could easily solve the problem. We might even convince some phone manufacturers to include the Root CA in the default list, making true plug and play and mutual authentication possible.
