  1. Hi I have this loaded on a server that has a SYSLOG server running, however Snom ONE uses the SYSLOG server port (514 UDP), how do i turn this off? I didnt see anything in the setup about it using the SYSLOG server port????
  2. Ive been having major issues with this.... for the amount of money these phone cost they dont work with SNOM ONE, considering i have just advised 2 clients to us Cisco based on my findings of this M9 (that i bought personally to test), this sort of major issue need to be nailed. BOth clients went with BELL and Cisco VOIP systems, i was going to deploy Snom ONe boxes with all phones but they need DECT units and this M9 just doenst work with the SNOM one server. According to your own documentation only the 3xx series and M3 can auto provision (on your Wiki site). You forgot to add anything to the new 8xx series and M9????? your going to loose sales over this Just to cover some baes, this not a hardware layer issue, ive just deployed fibre, HP switches, everythign else on all sites work fine. Ive had MAJOR issues with the M9 with regards configuration if its been reset, MAJOR issues with all phones and NTP (again just doesnt work), the 3xx phones are quiet stable, however the NTP creates problems which i am still trying to sort 3 months later. Being told "it works on mine" doesnt cut it, as i then do exactly what was done filling in some "missing" gaps, and i cant replicate a working phone (with regards the M9). I am now doing it again, however 2 major clients you will have lost sales on (they are buying about 30 units each).
  3. hummm my iPhone does it, infact every mobile phone ive ever had does it.... although the answer make sense, shouldnt this be added as a feature? On the back of this, i cant seem to get any long distance numbers added (as they are dialled), when pressing the button its like there just not stored, how do i know this isnt a phone problem?
  4. Hi I have a few numbers which dial then wait for abit the dial and extenstion, how do i put a "pause" in to a speed dial number? number is something like 1 519 xxx xxxx p 201 This would dial the number then wait (maybe 3 seconds) then dial "201" as the extension after the caller (attendant) picks up. Works on my mobile, however not sure what the pause letter is..... ideas?
  5. when calling it, it doesn't go to mailbox either...... I thought this would be a provisioning thing, however the M9 settings file (snom_m9_settings.xml) has this in it <user_mailbox perm="R" idx="{lc}">{account}</user_mailbox>, i know this file works as it has changed my Time Server and this is in the file as well..... Not quiet sure whats going on here...
  6. Hi thanks, i know Snom have appliances, however i want to get this company running for lower cost, when / if it all works out then i can move them to a full appliance, i will also provide voip.ms as a Internet providor as well.. however they want access to standard PSTN lines as well at the start. I will look at the Patton 4114, this needs to be a network box (should have mentioned that).
  7. Hi I am sure this has been done before, however i cant find to much on here. I need a good gateway box that i can plug in to real phone lines to, prefer one that can take more than one line (will be easier), it needs to work with Snom ONE free (or there SOHO version). This needs to be a stand alone network box (phone line and Ethernet port). I am currently using voip.ms and this works very well, like one that will plug in seamlessly like this.
  8. Thanks, i did wonder this, however i cant find in the link you sent where it outlines these details, i still cant find what "PERMISSIONFLAG" means though? My bad, it appears where i read this particular setting saying "PERMISSIONFLAG" was supposed to be over written with RW or R (or another one that will do the same), will re-do that flag now...... the wiki site needs alot of interpretation with some of this stuff.
  9. Hi I am playing with the settings XML files, i notice 80-90% of all settings have a "perm" flag see below as an example: <user_pass idx="{lc}" perm="RW">{sip-pass}</user_pass> I see this is "RW", ive also seen "R", one i set was "PERMISSIONFLAG" and when i used this, the option in the webpage for that phone showed the setting but was greyed out so it cant be changed. Can someone please explain what the different flags for "perm" does?
  10. Hi, i read that as well, however i want to change where the phones get the NTP from. I notice the config file sent to the phone has this in them.... <ntp_server perm="RW">{tz ntp-adr}</ntp_server> I assume "{tz ntp-adr}" means "timezone NTP address", so i looked in the config file in SNOM ONE "timezones.xml" which does have all the timezones in them, however no NTP servers to use to get the time, EST looks like this: <zone name="EDT"> <description>Eastern Time Zone</description> <gmt_offset>-18000</gmt_offset> <dst_offset>3600</dst_offset> <dst_start_day_of_week>1</dst_start_day_of_week> <dst_start_month>3</dst_start_month> <dst_start_time>02:00</dst_start_time> <dst_start_week_of_month>2</dst_start_week_of_month> <dst_stop_day_of_week>1</dst_stop_day_of_week> <dst_stop_month>11</dst_stop_month> <dst_stop_time>02:00</dst_stop_time> <dst_stop_week_of_month>1</dst_stop_week_of_month> <ampm>12</ampm> </zone> Theres no NTP server address in the above timezone information, so how do i add it? This should mean it then sends the timeserver i want to use for that timezone to the phone instead of the "standard" one.
  11. Hi, where is the time server setting in Snom ONE? I have seen the port (under TFTP), however cant find the server itself...
  12. Thanks, managed to sort it on the SNOM 360, just looking at the templates now...
  13. Hi So i have SNOM ONE and a web voip provider (voip.ms), that works, if someone calls me i get the call. however how do i give someone my extension as a number, i assume its something like 21@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx or 21@ExternalDomainToIPAddress 1. how will SNOM know to route this? or wont it? 2. do i need a trunk setup to route SIP direct clals? 3. How would i dial direct SIP addresses? 4 (SIDE NOTE) how could i dial names if i used a external plugin like skype (which might not be possible).
  14. Hi Is there a way of stopping the phones showing SIP information, i have a SNOM 360 and when an internal extension rings i get 41 <sip.....> I am sure this never used to happen, so must be a setting somewhere.
  15. Hi Both on Snom ONE system... from ext 21 (snom 360) to ext 41 (snom m9) On ext21 i get the "press 1 to receive a call back", the call going to the M9 doesnt go to voicemail, this seems odd (360 extension will go to voicemail)!
  16. Hi, M9 has the below firmware: Base Station: 9.4.12-a Handset: PTCL14I20110802 I have a defualt time of ringing for 20 seconds then it goes to mailbox, when trying to ring the M9 extenstion i get "there was no answer from this extension", this should go to mailbox, provisioning is from Snom One server, so whats missing?
  17. speed dial..... can i do this from SNOM or does it have to be direct on the M9 base webpage?
  18. Yep, all same LAN I understand this, however it has 2 softkeys, would be nice to be able to configure these while its in a call????
  19. base = v9.4.12 a phone = PTCL14I20110811 Not to happy about that, would be nice to have some options the same as the desk phones at least, at least like it able to forward to voicemail like a deskphone on the same phone system.
  20. Hi, i set up a SNOM 360, flawless, set the Mailbox to 20 seconds (global) when you ring, hits 20 seconds it goes to mailbox. Identical settings on a M9 account, it rings the says but never goes to mailbox, so i have a feeling this is still a provisioning thing. I have been over the TFTP, http methods, how the logfiles are stored, however it appears this M9 doesnt work like the extenstions so... is the M9 compatiible to the Snom ONE system? should i return it (at $280 cost), not happy.. If i take a call i cant park it, they never get voicemail, has 2 soft buttons that never get the settings from Snom ONE (which seem to work fine on the 360)....???? see my point i think.
  21. Hi, Thats fixed it, i set the PnP to write to file, this has created the files..... Going to play with the URL in the Provisioning now to see if it gets the details it should, i have also turned of the trust MAC address feature so its locked to what it has.
  22. This sounds like its resolved then, i tried that same URL from a different PC and the returned contents MAC address matched that PC as well (so changed). This means when the phone requests it it should get the phones MAC address, which is good, i do have trust MAC address enabled inside Snom ONE. So one last thing here is the folder that is named after the extenstion number inside the "generated" folder in Snom ONE isnt getting generated, how do i track this down?
  23. I am a network specialist, IP / MAC routing is something i do, however i dont know the inside of Snom One so can only comment on what i see, however to answer... 000413304B3D is the MAC address of the M9 base unit (and is correct) 0019D11CD87A is the MAC address of an Intel desktop board, and is not running SNOM, it is used to access the web interface of Snom One, however i cant see any reason why Snom would have got hold of this MAC address. I would like to add here, no extenstion folder has been created in the SNOM directory structure for this extenstion either, however now using TFTP it seems to be sending all the correct provision details to the M9 when looking at the log file in the M9 base unit web interface,. My question is, why would the correct http XML file have a MAC address of a completely different machine as this remains a very odd and major issue. There is a 3COM switch onsite (not managed) and a Watchgaurd Firewall (x550e not a cheap unit) which handles DHCP, however the Intel MAC address is not DHCP so cant be a mix up in the Watchgaurd firewall.
