  1. Hi, yeah i got that markers for inbound and outbound.... However the question is what would be the "standard" for a voip line that can have 2in and 3 out. However i have sort of thought might be easier to just have CO set to 3 names, once 2 are used comming in then i am still able to make 3 out going calls. how will SNOM know i can do this if that VOIP line only have 3 lines (2 used for inbound leaving only 1 left). I needed a way of able to show this on the phone without using loads of buttons, i am not to worried about in comming but would like to be able to show all phones that a call is comming in however dont want it to tie up the phone line as it can still have 3 calls leaving the building.
  2. Hi I have a voip.ms account (which works fine), however they have confirmed the below... "Hi With the number xxx xxx xxxx being on flat rate plan, you will be able to receive a maximum of 2 inbound calls. If your system permits it, you can also make outbound calls at the same time. So, if you have two incoming calls received at any time, you will be able to make 3 outbound calls at the same time." So i was thinking, how do i configure the trunk in SNOM ONE to make sure i can do the above, putting 5 lines in the CO wouldnt do it as i cant make 5 calls, so do i need 2 trunks, 1 set to incomming only the other outgoing only each with 2 / 3 CO lines, i assume SNOM ONE will route with this and it will stop me getting some odd call rejections? OR 2 trunks, 1 set to normal with 2 lines and another trunk set to outgoing only with 1 more line (which i assume would be the better setup). With the above, how would be the best way to show these trunks (3 lines) on the phones, i want the light to come on when someone is on the phone, from what i hear "private line" wont show up on all phones, only the one its used on, so would "shared line" so it?
  3. UPDATE I updated the version from 2011-4.2.0.3981 (Win64) to 2011-4.2.1.4025 (Win64), thats fixed the name issue with the mailbox....

Hi, the manual says to go to wiki.snom.com and download any updates for "existing installations" which i assume means it will contain a few files only and not the installer, however i can find this link, only new installs for Windows is listed. Also did they limit it to 5 units now? the text on the site says the free one will do 5 devices.... ideas? Many Thanks
  5. Didn’t particularly want to do that, considering SNOM ONE seems to have issues after you delete them (known problem). However plot did thicken slightly, i noticed when i got a voicemail, when i then collected this mail (on Ext 21), the Message indicator AND message on the screen never changed to 1 old message, always stayed as new, however the mailbox did say there was an old message. I cleared this problem by the below... Added 21 to the mailbox allowed to access on 29, called 829, left message, restarted phone, cleared the allowed to access this mailbox on 29, restarted phone, problem resolved about the message indicator HOWEVER still showing as "spare" on the naming front but the message indicator now works.

  7. Hi, i had a really simple setup, which seems to have gone abit weird... Extensions 21 (NAME), 29 (SPARE). Extension 29 mailbox was being watched by extension 21 (accounts > 29 > mailbox > Allow Access for Extensions: set to 21). When i check mail on Ext 21 by dialling 821 it shows "<1> 821 spare", so i removed the above Allow Access for Extensions and rebooted the phone (ext 21), it still shows the name "<1> 821 spare", how do i stop this?
  8. This never worked, i have to use the name "extension@domainname" to get in (now i got it working), however i only have 1 domain so why would this be?

  10. Never been able to do this, whats the URL and username (i assume the extension number)? This SNOM install is on a domain controller so the LDAP port i think has been changed, i assume this will create an issue? any ideas how to update any templates to use a different port for LDP for SNOM so it doesnt bump into the domain controll LDAP port? Never got this to work....
  11. Yes it is, thanks... SNOM one isnt bad, i do agree i like seing if someone is logged in. I am using this in my house, however as a network specialist i am interested to see how VOIP layout works. I am having issues with that to see on which button but as you said this is a template thing, ive not played with this yet. I know the soft Directory button doesnt show anything, i am sure this is a template thing.
  12. Done and working... Done, also working. Is there a managemnet tool from SNOM for all there phones? I assume not as not found one, by people like HP have management tools for there printers and think client, i assume SNOM would as well for there phones...

Hi I have SNOM one and SNOM 360, i upgraded the firwmware to v8.4.32 via the website details, then i changed the Provision URL to http://myipaddress/snom360/snom360.php?mac={mac} which has rolled the firmware back to v8.4.18 (after a few reboots) So how do i upgrade SNOM one firmware files for these phones? cant find any update buttons in SNOM one.
  14. Hi, i am very new to SNOM one, however have most items working. NUMBERS FORMATS I was told to get all extensions into something like 8xx, this way when a real call comes in the phone can dial a real number and it get routed (no real numbers start with 8). However if someone has another input that would be nice, however the reason for this question is how do i get all the extensions in to a global address book? ADDRESS BOOK ALso is there a specific extension address book when cna be on top of the global one? Can these address books be edited from the phone itself or does the global (or extension specific) one need to be edited from the web console only? WEBPAGE ACCESS Also how do i get in tp the extension webpage work, i can log in as administrator but how do i get to the phone portal?

    Hi, although this plugin looks nice, it doesnt actually stream anything to the server, i need a streaming server to get this into the SNOMone system to allow somethign from the web to be played as music on hold, any ideas? (this plugin will allow anything on the "line in" or "mic" port to be used as on hold then stream it to SNOMone...!

Ive just managed to get SNOM ONE (free) working..... testing with 3CX softphone, will be getting at least one SNOM phone on the network, however i need to know the limits of this system to design the layout... so need help with this. If i have 2 voip lines..... and a number of handsets that have extensions numbers.... a few questions.. - Is there a way of 1 physical phone having more than one extension number? - Am i able to assign a voip line a "line" button on a phone or do i need something like "9" so the rules can work out which trunk to get the call to? What i would like to do, is have a voip number (DID) ring at about 3 phones (can do this with a hunt group), however the voice mail (if no one answers) be accessible from any phone and that phone (or phones i want) be told there is a message waiting. I cant see this possible from a hunt group as there is a way of getting it to hunt on one phone for 1 second but that phone will be the one who gets the massage. Also is there a way of having different mailbox messages depending on which line gets there (same extension gets calls from different DID so gets a different mailbox message), this is why i asked about 2 extensions on 1 phone, different DID going to different extensions (different mailboxes) resulting in the same physical extension, not sure this is possible though.   17. UPDATE Ive now changed the 3COM Superstack firewall to a newer Watchguard. This is now doing the PPPOE meaning the firewall actually has the static external IP (still have the 3COM ADSL modem but its now a bridge), i removed these 2 lines and restarteed the server: SIP IP Replacement List: 192.168.1.63/206.248.136.39 IP Routing List: 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.63 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/206.248.136.39 The 3CX softphone seems to be fully working with the Rogers mobile number (both ways). I will now likly buy a SNOM phone to fully test this as it seems way better without the NAT between the firewall and ADSL/PPPOE log in (NAT).

Had a response from voip.ms, they have confirmed as long as the RTP ports are between 10000-20000 its ok, i have set it on the firewall (external and Windows 2008) to ports 10001 - 10005 I have also tried this with the PC (3CX soft phone) and server 2008 (SNOM ONE) firewalls off, have an identical issue. That said, for some reason now the 3CX no longer seems to want to work with the voice mail (call its own extension, it isnt sending the PIN keytones to the server when entering the pin code, this is a new issue i dont want to look at until i get voip working outside (if i can persist with this due to the fact i wont be paid for this now).

  20. Hi, it is my cell phone on my desk, i did answer it, however what worries me here is voip.ms have no idea, and SNOM ONE doesnt work.... so ive been told to look at other makes. Ive updated the past post and put the logs in to a text file.... Thing is it cant be this hard to make voip work with a 3CX softphone, SNOM ONE and voip.ms and a static IP address. I am sure this is a voip.ms issue. However i have been warned not to throw money at this as at the moment my bill is not being paid as its been deemed as a failed project. With this in mind, i assume voip.ms was supposed to sent a SIP 200 OK once the call was answered on the mobile rogers number? If so this would indicate a voip.ms problem, maybe with the way SNOM is registered in. voip.ms has been set to ATA phone (and not PBX like asterisk), when it was set to a PBX system like asterisk then nothing worked, maybe this is the problem? I am sure i asked someone whats the best service to use with SNOM and was told voip.ms, ideas here would be nice.... does anyone use voip.ms ir should i change to a new provider that i know works with SNOM ONE? What should the voip.ms system be set to (as i can set it up) with regards ATA phone or PBX settings, i have no idea what any of those do and neither do voip.ms with an answer like "try ATA phone setting instead". Ive been thinking about buying a SNOM 320, however as above thats out of my pocket, if i cant get this to work i wont get paid... UPDATE Tried both ATA and PBX settings at voip.ms, identical problems with both settings. However i do get 2 seconds of sound when i set "follow RTP" (Settings > ports > follow RTP) in SNOM ONE, that seems to help abit, it still cuts out but now i get 2 seconds of sound from the rogers mobile before it hangs up (same problem just with abit of sound now)....
  21. Hi This is drving me abit nuts... The 192.168.1.63 address is the internal IP address of the SNOM ONE box, it appears (by design which would be correct) the SIP packet is going from the internal address, Ive added 2 lines to the main config in SNOM ONE (none have made any difference): SIP IP Replacement List: 192.168.1.63/206.248.136.39 IP Routing List: 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0/192.168.1.63 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/206.248.136.39 206.248.136.39 is the external IP address voip.ms will need to see... However same problem, can get calls comming in (from real rogers to DID), calling internal extenstion to a real rogers mobile number, it rings but can not connect (same as before) the below log is from start of call from internal extenstion (3CX soft phone) to the real rogers number, however i have not hung up on the 3CX here, just let the mobile (rogers) close the call as it always does after 1-2 seconds. Can see the internal address now has the external IP, however i would have thought that would fix it, it hasnt though! Many Thanks Ashley log.txt
  22. Hi Just to make sure things are clear here, when i ring the mobile real number (on rogers) with the 3CX soft phone, this is what happeneds. It will disconnect as i hang up manually on the 3CX once i pick up the call on the mobile, the 3CX phone sales "connected", no sound, however by this time the mobile (rogers) has already hungup as there was no call to connect. I disabled video, identical problem.... have posted another log, this time will not hand up for about 10 seconds, however will be the same problem... This was "ring real number from 3CX on PC to rogers mobile, waited for it to ring for 3 seconds, answer the call on mobile (ir then hung up itself after about 2 seocnds), 3CX says "connected" left it like that 10 seconds then hung up on the 3CX (as it says connected, it would stay off hook all the time). VOIP.MS has no idea what this is doing it, i cleared the log before doing the above so the log only has this call in it... Its this part at the end that worries me "BYE sip:15198417838@10.0.0.2:5060 SIP/2.0" this is an internal "outside" of the Firewall, however the real internal IP is on the router not the firewall! How do i stop this internal IP getting out (as i am sure this is the problem)????? log.txt

Hi all I think this might be a routing issue..... 2008 64bit (SNOM ONE installed) XP 64bit with 3CX softphone iPhone with 3CX softphone All internal stuff works, calls to each extension, voice mail etc.. I can even dial into the DID and it will router to EXT10 (as expect) showing the caller ID from the mobile (Rogers), this works perfectly. However when i try to dial out from Extension 10 to the mobile (on Rogers), the call gets there, shows the DID number (as expected), however once the mobile starts to ring, the 3CX softphone doesn’t change to the REAL ringing tone, after the mobile picks up, the call is dropped on the mobile in 2 seconds (no sound) and the 3CX softphone just says connected. Heres the call log below, i will add, there’s a firewall with a router with the external IP on it (see below for IP setup). BELL PPPOE <-----> STATIC IP (3COM router) 10.0.0.1 <---> 10.0.0.2 (3COM firewall) 192.168.1.11 <-----> 192.168.1.63 (SNOM ONE via Server 2008) I have a feeling its the last part of the log that gives this away with it showing 10.0.0.2, any idea how to change this in SNOM to hard code to the static IP address? log.txt
