  1. Polycom's have an issue that when you are monitoring extensions it offers call pickup, however with the call pickup comes call waiting beep.

    I do not know of anyway to turn off call waiting beep JUST for BLF so I have gone into phone1.config in the tftp folder and changed the following: <callWaiting call.callWaiting.ring="silent" /> however when i reboot phone it does not change anything on the phone and continues to beep when a second call comes in.

    What is even weirder is that when I go into the generated folder and change the same line item in file polycom_phone.xml and then reboot phone, it reverts the settings back to beep.

    Please can someone help, the main issue is when someone has a sidecar and is monitoring 15 extensions, the number of beeps in the ear of the user is ridiculous when calls come into hunt groups or multiple users.

    Please advise asap.

    Can you turn on "Log TFTP and PnP events" and see if are feeding the file to the phone.

  2. Hi all,

    We have a CS410 that is used for our SIP devices' test bed. The device is on a public network and is protected with a good password.

    Yesterday, our engineer told me that they can't access the cs410. I figured that it does not respond to pings. Therefore, I reboot the device, but still can't ping the box. I then do a factory reset by pressing the reset button till the fxo lit up and power cycle the box. Unfortunately, I still couldn't get a ping from the box after the reset (I ping 192.168.1.99 after reset).

    When rebooting, the Run light will lit for about 40 seconds and then goes off afterward (even after reset). Actually, this is the second time I have seen this. The last time we have this problem (just about one years ago), I have to spend 100USD + shipping and sent back the unit for repair. I kinda feel this is just a software issue (ie. file system full?) and could be fixed without opening the box, because the box was intact last time.

    Thanks.

    Does the "WAN" light blink when the unit is powered up after awhile? Do any of the lights stay on?

  3. news to me.

    (But would be good news though)

    snom, could you weigh in?

    Actually you are both correct, it depends on how you want to use shared VM. The admin guide describes the cleaner way to retrieve shared VM as well but you can always use the "back door" for users that are on a cell phone, for example users can dial into the system, dial the shared VM "extension account" press * when the voice-mail prompts begin and dial the pin number. You can can practically combine the both methods.

  4. Hello everybody.

    I noticed missing registrations in the "Call log". Following is the scenario:

    1) external call coming in;

    2) secretary (ext 42) picking up, talks to the remote part;

    3) secretary transfers the call to my m9 by means of the BLF-keys (Function keys are configured with BLF for our extensions);

    4) I answer the phone, talk to my secretary;

    5) she hangs up;

    6) call gets transferred;

    7) I talk with the remote part;

    8) call is terminated.

    If I then look at the "Call log", I just see the call between the two extensions, the external caller number does not appear!

    Is there any parameter I missed to set/configure?

    Thanks and kind regards,

    F.

    Can you post the call log and a sip-trace of the call if available?

  5. Not only did I try to reset the phone (maybe 50 times now) but I also tried a different 320 from a different location (different internet connection/router) and the same results.

    One more thing to mention is that I have clients with older version PbxNsip server and I am able to PNP from this 320 in this location.

    Jack, while you are sending the test account to pbx support, can you take a quick glance at the admin guide just to make sure that everything is in order.

  6. Hi,

    I have Snom one free version. I need to know how can I register the extensions using Meritline IP Phones?

    What is the IP that I have to use inorder to register it. Because I used my pc's IP but still it isn't registering. Which IP do I need to use to register the extensions. How can I find the IP address for registration?

    My Pc is not connected to domain. So what is the domain name that I have to use for registering? How can I find it in the Snom One portal?

    Please provide me the details for the above problem.

    Thanks

    I would start here.

  7. Hi,

    I am configuring a Snom ONE blue on a Mac mini.

    Yesterday, I configured 2 trunks with my ITSP (weepeetelecom.eu), they worked almost fine except some 408 errors.

    Since yesterday evening, when I restarted the PBX, no more connections to the trunks, no error message or status on the trunk list.

    Even if I click on connect nothing happens.

    Here is the log:

    [1] 2011/01/18 09:50:08:	Starting up version 2011-4.2.0.3958

    [4] 2011/01/18 09:50:48:	Could not find packet with number 2

    Any suggestions

    Can you check the access list? perhaps the the ITSP IP has been blocked?

  8. 4.2.0.3958 (Win32)

    the problem is we can park a call using this new park orbit account and a park orbit button on a snom phone, (park orbit button on snom phone indicates fine) but we cannot retrieve the call using the button.

    If we type *86 <ext> we can retreive the parked call. If we use the park orbit button the snom phone it just drops the call.

    Also, and maybe related:

    in the new park orbit account type we can't seem to save a value in:

    "Extensions that may use this orbit:"

    Matt

    "Extensions that may use this orbit" will be removed from the park orbit section. MR X

  9. All you have to do is edit the "Call Park" and

    "Call Park Retrieve" with the same star code for example if the star code is *85 then both "Call Park" and

    "Call Park Retrieve" need the same star code.

    Then create a button profile with "Park orbit" and in the parameter field add the the park orbit account only no star code feature needed.

    You should be able to retrieve the call in and out with the buttons now.

  10. The manual says that you have a hunt group which ends up going to voicemail but I cannot get this to work.

    All we want is to have 3 extensions ring together and then if none of them are answered within 30 seconds, for the call to go to voicemail. I have tried setting the call to go to the voicemail of one of the extensions in the Hunt Group and I've also tried creating an extra extension with voicemail for the sole purpose of acting as the shared mailbox. But whatever I try, the phone rings for 30 seconds, then the call drops out.

    If I set the trunk back to calling straight through to one of the extensions - no problems - rings for 30 seconds, then goes to voicemail.

    What am I doing wrong?

    BTW, the only reason I'm doing this is because you can't set office hours up for an individual extension - otherwise I could simply set all three phones to ring on the same extension.

    Did you set (Time until mailbox picks up to pick up in 1 sec on the general mailbox?

    For the sake of simplicity I recreated your scenario.

    1. Huntgroup has 3 extension 41,42,43. Extension 41 has cell phone redirection enable ( not a necessary step.) . The duration was set to 30 seconds.

    2.Final Stage set to extension 66 which is my general mailbox (Time until mailbox picks up) is set to 1s

    3. Made a call to the AA Via DID and dialed the huntgroup account 72. The phones rang, cell phone rang and the general mailbox answered after the 30 seconds timeout.

    This scenario works local as well.
