hosted
i have a customer with what i would consider high CPU usage. everything is G729 from the phone to the termination (us). however we are recording 100% of the calls. my question is, the call recording is causing heavy trans coding from G729 right? is that why my CPU is high? Vodia PBX
Well, the PBX has to decode both media streams before they are mixed. Then there is another transcoding going on, because usually the PBX saves the recording in GSM format.
hosted
yea I stopped the recording and its humming now. so we are going to redo this site. put pbxnsip on site G711 w/recording and then do G729 down the trunk (bandwidth restrictions)
