iCall Trunk setup

Recommended Posts

hi there,

i am trying icall as a did and gateway provider.

they have different outbound servers for local and international calls.

Inbound: gw01-car.dal.us.icall.net

International outbound: gw01-car.dal.us.icall.net

Domestic outbound: sbc01-car.dal.us.icall.net

I setup 3 trunks:

- sip registration inbound only: icall-in

- international sip gateway: icall-international

- domestic sip gateway: icall-domestic

dial plan:

icall-international: 011* ⇾ 011*

icall-domestic: * ⇾

is this the right way to do it?

thanx

On the icall web site they say "In order to use iCall with a SIP phone you must use iCall wholesale/carrier services. The iCall softphone currently only allows use directly through the application." Are you sure that you account does support a SIP softphone registration?

yeah i am using the carrier account.

so i am glad to report that it was an icall issue.

here comes another questions:

icall wants 2 different registrations. one for domestic and one for international.

i did setup 2 trunks. is there away to have the trunks share the co lines? ideally this should be transparent for the end user.

thanx

Right now a CO line is bound to one trunk.

We have other cases where customers are using one PSTN trunk for domestic calls and another ITSP trunk for international. In this case, customers feel it is a feature to see when the call comes in on the international line. However, once the initial excitement is over we might have to think about sharing a CO-line between different trunks.
