Polycom IP7000 Wont Boot Up

Recommended Posts

HI,

I have a polycom IP7000 which just wont seem to work.

I have it connecting to the PBX (latest version of 3) over HTTP with extension credentials and it doesnt work?

I have also tried connecting over HTTP local to the PBX but it gets stuck at screen "Updating Initial COnfiguration" this has been going on for a while and the company is anxious to use their 900$ phone!

Please advise asap.

The log is full of this:

Did you set the phone to use TFTP? The default is as far as I remember FTP. And you should also set the username and the password, so that the PBX can generate the files for this extension.

http://kiwi.pbxnsip.com/index.php/Polycom

As mentioned above, we are connecting remotely which means we must do HTTP (as outline by pbxnsip) i have programmed in the extension and http password for that extension and it does not work.

Can you get some better logging? The snippet you attached doesn't have much useful info. I am not sure if this was available in v3 but in the newer versions you can get tftp and pnp events, I would also turn on http events. If you are really stuck then get wireshark trace and we can comb through it to see if the phone is logging in successfully. I tested it way back when and it worked fine. Are you running 3.4?

HI,

I have a polycom IP7000 which just wont seem to work.

Either you do not have the proper log level set or phone is not even reaching the PBX.

Are there any other IP7000s configured on this system or is this the 1st one? Also, do you know if IP7000 requires any special config file/template?

Do you also have to use HTTP? Or can you run TFTP? The HTTP server might be a problem with snom ONE HTTP server, as it does not recognize Polycom headers for PnP.

What version of the snomONE software & license are you using?

Version: 2011-4.5.0.1050 Coma Berenicids (CentOS64)

License: pbxnsip

Well, The software is a snomONE version. Running pbxnsip license may not be a good idea. It would be better if you can convert this license into snomONE license. Also, it is advisable to upgrade the software to 4.5.0.1090 ( Epsilon Geminids )
