animal49
Can anyone you tell me something about the strange selection of SnomOne version names? Why is the most actual version called 'Beta Corona Austrinids' (2011-4.5.0.1030)? Actually the Beta Corona Austrinids can be observed from 23. April - 30. May, the Alpha Monocerotids (2011-4.5.0.1016) in fact can be watched from 15. November - 25. November. So I suppose they have finished 'Beta Corona Austrinids' (2011-4.5.0.1030) later than 'Alpha Monocerotids' (2011-4.5.0.1016)? Or is the nomination just fluke? Jack Russell Racing
Probably just a coincidence. Not that my opinion matters, but I think naming software that is suitable for General Release with names like "Alpha" and "Beta" is extremely confusing to those of us who are (or have been) in the I.T. world. Vodia PBX
We thought it would be a good idea to give it in addition to the number also names, and we went for comets. A, B, next is C. Alpha and Beta are somewhat confusing because people might think the Alpha release it totally untested. But when we come out with the "C" it will become clear how it works... animal49
How clinical ;-) Thought I would find a Trekkie or a hobby astronomer among the software engineers!
pbx support
Well, we thought about coinciding release dates with the names. But then we thought it might be difficult to explain to the folks about the PBX and meteor showers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_meteor_showers
Vodia PBX
OMG. The next name will probably be "Coma Berenicids".
