Dunwood
Is it possible to get the SnomONE to email MP3 files instead of WAV when sending voicemails?
Vodia PBX
Nope. You can use GSM format which is 13.2 kbit/s voice codec and which enjoys a wide device support. MP3 has in addition to its complexity the problem that it is a patent-minefield...

The main problem is a couple of our staff have android devices with no native WAV support, would they have GSM support? Where would I set this up please? Vodia PBX
In either case they have to play back WAV files. http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html has a overview what codecs are supported; seems like the WAV support was added only in 4.1, and only uncompressed. There is a option in pbx.xml that tell the PBX not to compress the attachments, not sure if that would be a solution.
Dunwood
Well for now I have installed VLC onto the phones and it plays them ok, just a shame there isn't a way to do it natively.
Vodia PBX
I agree. Maybe someone can set up a email service in the net where it does the transcoding from WAV to MP3...
DLS
I agree. Maybe someone can set up a email service in the net where it does the transcoding from WAV to MP3... phoneconvert.com does this. Would be nicer to be able to do this on the PBX though. Cheers, Andrew
