custom prompt message

hy all,

 

i'm building up our snom IPBX, just bought the licence package and i was wondering how to "add" custom message in the auto-attendant configuration.

 

For example:

i have the option: "for sales press :"

 

i'd like to add these kind of messages :

"for the BU [XXX] sales, press"

"for the BU [XXX] technical support press"

"for the BU [XXX] marketing service, press"

 

i went trough the wiki and docs , but i haven't found how

 

any clues someone ?

Hi, you can record these message from the AA before you start recording make sure that the extension is allowed to record the message under "Accounts that may record a message:"

 

Then follow the procedure below

 

To record greetings using *98:
  1. From the telephone keypad, enter *98.
  2. Enter the auto attendant account number.
  3. Wait for the system message then record you message after the tone and hang up the receiver.

sorry if my question is dumb but

 

maybe i've misunderstand what are greetings.

in my point of view, greeting is the first message you hear when you go through the auto-attendant like "welcome to our company....."

 

what i need is to custom messages played after this one like:

"for the BU [XXX] sales, press"

"for the BU [XXX] technical support press"

"for the BU [XXX] marketing service, press"

 

so the whole process would be:

 

"Welcome to our company"

"for the BU [XXX] sales, press"

"for the BU [XXX] technical support press"

"for the BU [XXX] marketing service, press"

 

are we "talking" about the same thing ?

 

please forgive me if my question is a bit "strange",

Well if you want a custom message you have to record one very easily. If you're looking to modify the prompts on the PBX you can check out the audio_en folder in the Vodia PBX working directory. I think it would be more feasible to record you message on the phone http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Auto_Attendant_Welcome_Greeting or upload a professional prompts as well then you can setup the direct destination.

It is just like you said. The recording in your case will include the "greeting" and the "instructions" for the IVR - all in the same recording. Then in the IVR section of the AA you will disable the "Play default welcome message:" and then upload or record your greeting + instruction to the enabled "Override for default:"
