  1. how do i set up that automatically after dialing 1-xxx-xxx-xxxx or xxx-xxx-xxxx it should place the call?

i only want it for calls that the 1st number is between 2 to 9 followed by xxxxxxxxx or the first number is 1 and the 2nd number is between 2 and 9 followed by xxxxxxxxx

I’m using a Polycom phone and having to hit send to dial is not so convenient

  2. I look at the Active call on the PBX and i see a call connected since the future, lol

connected since 2106/02.06 and todays date is only 2009/08/24

here is what i copy/paste from the active calls page

    2106/02/06 01:28:16 John (12125551212@45.25.138.156) [OB_Global_SIPGW_O_01] +19785551212@companyc.mysip.com [OB_Global_SIPGW_O_01] connected

  3. i looked at the active calls on our system and seen the following:

    2009/08/24 10:33:36 Anonymous (anonymous@anonymous.invalid) [RNK_Global_SIPGW_I_01] +12125551212 connected

is that normal? shouldnt it have the IP anonymous@ipaddress?

  4. what do i do in case i do have 1 as the area code on the domain setting level

but then i wnt to dial an international number? what do i set the trunk to? use domain country code? then it will think its a USA Canada number, whats my fix here?

  5. stupid question, but hey you gotta ask

what would be a perfect DNS SRV entry?

thus far ive been doing it

    .sip._udp.pbx IN SRV 10 10 5060 PBX1

do i need to create multiple DNS SRV records in UDP and in TCP? or it only uses UDP?

  6. the problem i see is HTTP not working once the new one takes over

also another issue would be routing incoming calls to the new server, unless you register your trunk and not just a sip gateway

also, do the phone actually get provisioned with DNS SRV enabled if you provision the phones using HTTP?

the setup we use is the 2nd server actually takes the IP off the first server, but both servers are in the same data center

is this for my situation? ""Loop-Start" indicates the beginning of the list of extensions per device. You may provide two optional parameters for this tag. The first parameter indicates the number for the first entry (typically, "0" or "1"). The second parameter indicates the maximum number for the loop. This way, you can avoid providing too many extensions for the phone. For example, if you want to have only two extensions with the index 1 and 2, you would use the tag "{Loop-Start 1 3}". "
