  1. its not working for me what other setting need to be changed?
  2. What id like to see is that all i have to do is dial *85 and the PBX will come back to me and tell me "your call has been parked on orbit5000" then i can announce on loud speaker, john get call 5000, and he will be able to dial from anywhere *865000, right now when i dial *85 it will only allow to park in on a Extension Number set up that by default extension xxx is used to park a call. While in a conversation, press ## to initiate a transfer, then dial xxx. PBX will now announce the parking extension, most probably XXX or XXX. Now hang up - the caller will be left on hold at the announced extention. Walk up to a different phone, dial xxx and the conversation can be continued. If a caller has been parked for a longer time than the specified time limit then Asterisk will again ring the originally dialed extension.
  3. is Try Loopback when setting up a dial plan is that it searches all domains on the PBX to see if there is a domain that is getting all calls coming to that particular number? So if I want to set that when 1 domain calls a number(xxxxxxxxxx) that’s on another domain, and t won’t use any outbound trunk, so it doesn’t cost me money? Or is try Loopback option in the dial plan something else
  4. I was wondering if its possible to park a call by doing the following actions: when i have a call i will transfer it *85, the PBX will then announce me which "parking spot" it assigned it to, for example "your call has been parked on orbit 301" then i will announce on overhead paging, john you have a call on orbit 301, all john will have to do from any phone in the building dial *86 and it will ask him please enter the parking orbit you would like to pick up if its do-able, i dont see how to do it, maybe someoen can help me it seems as right now all im able to do is put a call on orbit of the extension, which is ok, but then when i go to retrieve the call, it gives the the "first come first serve" i want only 1 parking per orbit, and the PBX to tell me which Orbit its parked on
  5. add 1# in the user input this will delay so when pressing one you have time to enter the full extension number first
  6. how can i set a DOMAINwide setting for the ANI? or do i need to set it per extension?
  7. i looked at the call logs and i find that when i call from extension 2490 phone on the "domain1.pbx.com" account, it actually says the call is beign made from a diff domain. then when i add my DID to that domain, the incoming calls work going to that domain can it be that the domains are gettign mixed up once i deleted the "domain1.pbx.com" domain?
  8. We were going to try and get global trunk to work So we did the following and caused the following problems When we set up our system, we took the “localhost” domain and changed (edit the name) it to our “company1.pbx.com” domain Then we added more and more domains as we added new customers, for every customer we build them trunks for incoming and for outgoing Today we wanted to set up global trunk for incoming since all domains have the same incoming trunk set up, so we first set up a domain called “trunk” and added the trunk we use for incoming and set it for global, then removed the incoming trunk from our “company1.pbx.com” domain, and tried calling into the system, we got a busy signal We then proceeded to erase the “trunk” domain, saved the domain “company1.pbx.com”, than changed “company1.pbx.com” it to “localhost” and added the trunk for incoming and set it to global Now we created a new domain called “company1.pbx.com” and used the saved file to create the domain now every time you call one of the DID’s that used to work, it gets a busy signal So we deleted the “localhost” domain and added the incoming trunk back to “company1.pbx.com” and every time you call one of the DID’s its busy, and the log file says error 404 We added a new DID to the domain, it works just fine We saved the domain with the new DID saved in it, deleted the domain, re-created it, when you call in the DID’s we first has then the DID’s we added in, and it doesn’t work But interesting enough, when I call the numbers from the phones on the domain, it works, when I call it from an outside phone, it gets a busy signal error 404 basicly as of now you can only call us from a phone ont he domain, not from anywhere else What did we do wrong?
  9. We have multipel domains, and for every domain i built the same set of trunks, how exactly does the GLOBAL thingy work? can i build the 5 trunks were using and let all domains use it? what problems am i running into? and what do i need to avoid? and better yet, how do i go about setting it up? we use approx 5 trunks for outgoing, and 1 for incoming traffic thanks
  10. Whatever works for you guys and if its easy will work for us i have the template, but i dont want to mess with it too much without having all details how to change what, what does what type of deal thanks
  11. ive also asked for it a while ago, id also like to have the ability to EDIT the name of the dial plan, pls
  12. we re-installed the software on a new os on our machine the problem ere having is that when we back up the directory and then put it on the new system, it doesn’t OVERWRITE the existing accounts, it just APPENDS it, so local host stays there, and what was the 1st domain on the backup file, is being appended to the local host domain which adds all the default extension does anyone know what else stays that I would need to delete? I had to delete all the default extensions please reply
  13. Does anyone know or can post exact step by step instructions on how to change the email the system sends out on any option, like missed call, voice mail, new extension added, etc please help
  14. can we change the welcome message the email puts out? Welcome Email When a new user is set up, the PBX now sends a welcome email that contains the web password for the new account. Retrieved from "http://wiki.pbxnsip.com/index.php/Release_Notes_3.2"
  15. that would actually be very good, if I can for example have a billing page with the customers information which will also contain a link "click here to log into your account" and that link will go directly into his account in the PBX without popping up the window asking for authentication, the password will already be in the link the link will be in a secured place, so it is not easily accessible by just anyone or is this way not secured to do
  16. exactly, id like to see a "i am stupid and forgot my password so please email it to me" but like i said, it should be based on per user, some users can do it, and some should be blocked
  17. just tought having a forgot password might be something nice to have included? FYI ive seen another version that i tried doign the same crash, but it didnt work guess somethign must of changed between this and that versions
  18. okay awesome, tought i had to start with 100 thanks for the info can i add mroe then 1 row at a time? and also can i save a dial plan and upload it to other domains and have the option to rename the dial plan? lastly i need to know the correct way of what the dial plan needs tobe set up as, that when you dial a 10 digit number area code-xxx-xxxx it should automaticly add a number 1 in front of it, and also when someone calls me, it should show as 1-area code-xxx-xxxx which now doesnt work
  19. will it have a forgot my password tool? and also be able to set per extension if it can have access at all? if not the forgot my password wont work so lets say company 1 doesnt want extension 111 to have access, but if it does a forgot password, thenit will get the password, which isnt good so for extension 111 have the option of not checking on access to web portal
  20. the reason i started from 114 is i want to leave room for Enable 911 trunks, once i figure it out
  21. if possible, can you confirm that this is 100 percent good now? i gave everythign its own prefrence, i just want to make sure i didn toverlook something due to my stupidy
  22. for now we have installed IPTABLES on the server and we block out all IP except our office, so we wont have a problem with customers tryign to log in with a wrong user name or password match
  23. fair enough can i have an option to upload a dial plan and be able to name it whatever i need to? now i have a dial plan on every domain, in case down the road ineed to customize something for a customer its a PITA to type all that up, would even be easier if i can add more then one row at a time
  24. how about the way i have it set up now, is it good? or i shouldnt set the same pref number even it uses the same trunk? and , what do i have to be caution as far as putting which one first? for example i know i cant set 102 to be 1* and replacement 1* since then all calls starting with 1 will use pref 102
