What I like about ubuntu is the large hcl they have. I use desktop so I can remote into the pbx and use it's web browser to work on the phones.

Sorry I dind't thank you earlier.
I did try it in Ubuntu, but now I installed Debian witht he graphic interface and is working faster than in Ubuntu, plus I had a weird problem in Ubuntu when I switched to static IP it never did switch, it kep using DHCP, I think it was something to do with Gnome or whatever, but was odd, that you can't make a simple change like that in the graphic enviroment. IN Debian works like a charm.
Thank you.
I had to remove DHCP. DHCP caused an issue with allowing a static to work. After I removed it, it worked fine.

I have been having the same problem, well at least it seems to be the same. When I try to access the files through the web interface at https://mypbxip/prov/snom_3xx_phone.xml?model=snom320 I get:
Check the password settings on your device
Please ask your system administrator to check the log file.
In the log file it says:
Invalid Auth from user 112@mypbxip: 400 Check Authorization to the sender
I have tried with both the web password and the sip password.
PBX version: 2011-4.2.0.3981 (Linux)
If I am on the same lan, the PBX is more than happy to give the phone anything it wants. Even old firmwares if you don't update the settings

All you have to do is to put the DID on the accounts (extensions/AA/ACD/etc). Ex: "45 18001231234" (without quotes)where 45 is an extension and 18001231234 is the DID. Also, keep the "Send Calls to extension" field empty on the trunk.
I understand that part but when I did that, I had to use the username which they pass as the initial caller ID, support got back to me very quick as usual and told me to do this:
If you would like perform DID based routing in your SnomOne installation then please visit the trunk configuration page of your PBX, and change the setting “Send call to extension” to:
!([0-9]*)!/1!t!100
Note the last portion of the dialplan; which is 100. This will send all incoming calls to extension 100 given if your PBX cannot find a valid match, in terms of DID routing. You may change this value to reflect your PBX’s settings.
I will try it when I get my second DID. Does it look right?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi everyone,
I am trying to route multiple DID's on snom ONE with call centric. My PBX only recognizes the account number that is sent from call centric (1777XXXXXXX) and not the DID. They say that the did is sent in the SIP TO header, is there a way I can get this to work with snom ONE?
-
I have heard of green, but my distributor has not :/ Any word on the MSRP and does it have to be approved by snom or is it open for anyone to buy? I ask because I have some PBX setups that have mixed phones and my customers don't like the whole idea of a * key transfer....
-
I would say you could get away with it.
pretty minimum though, don't try anything tricky. (transcoding, recording, etc)
That is what I thought, we put this PBX in last year and didn't realize the manufacture was being cheap. This box goes down once or twice a month now with the escalation of SIP attacks and has no way to block addresses except manually. It came with a three year warranty but the manufacturer says they only have a one year software warranty so if I pay them $400 for second year support they will fix it, so much for buying local. I am thinking of replacing the mobo with an atom processor do you think that might be a better choice?

I have a used PBX that has some semi asterisk based PBX on it that is not secure and I want to stick snomONE on it. It has a Via C3 800mhz processor and a gig of ram, will this be satisfactory for 7 extensions? It will be running centOS, not windows.

Can you point me to the correct installation procedure for Centos please.
Thanks for your help
You need to download the 32bit or 64 bit linux distro of snomONE for CentOS to start with. After you download the file make sure to login as root (su root) and move the file to the root directory.
SSH to the box or open terminal window from the GUI.
Make sure you are logged in as root, "su root" then enter the root password. Move to the root directory, where you put the snomONE installer
Enter the command ./snomone-CentOS5-2011-4.2.0.3950-x64.bin install
The file name will reference the current version so it won't look exactly the same as above.
Change your firewall settings as per the attached document.
You then can login to your CentOS box's IP or localhost from the CentOS's GUI.
I would recommend that you set a key for your SSH instead of a direct username and password. I will be making an install sheet for that in the next couple days..

I worked through this with my adapter and here is how I set mine up:
Grandstream POTS Adapter:
Product Model: GXW4104
Software Version: Program--1.3.4.10 Loader--1.1.3.4 Boot--1.1.3.2
** Do the FXO line test on all the lines and check AC Impedance, CPT Detection, CID Detect. Check the apply test results automatically and to all ports (unless you are doing one at a time).
If your adapter is exposed to the internet change the password under advanced settings.
Settings:
FXO Lines: - Channel Dialing To PSTN
-
- 1. Wait for Dial-Tone(Y/N): ch1-4:N;
- 2. Stage Method(1/2): ch1-4:1;
- 3. Min Delay Before Dialing Out: ch1-4:500;
FXO Lines: - Channel Dialing to VoIP
-
- User ID: ch1-4:1; ## Without a user ID the adapter would not call the pbx, it seems to work with any userid.
- Sip Server: ch1-4:p1;
- Sip Destination Port: ch1-4:5060;
Channels:
-
- Make sure all the channels you are using are set to profile 1.
- I noticed the audio in was kind of low so upped the RX to 7. Beware that all POTS lines I have dealt with are different and will have to be tuned to your liking. Sometimes the ringback tone is too low and may need to be increased.

- SIP Server: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (PBX IP)
- SIP Registration: No
snomONE PBX:
-
- Type: SIP Gateway
- Direction: Inbound and Outbound
- Trunk Destination: Generic Sip Server
- State: Enabled
- Display Name: Grandstream
- Domain: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx "IP of your gateway"
- No User Name Or Password
- Accept Redirect: Yes
- Interpret SIP URI always as telephone number: Yes
- Send Call To Extension: "The Extension You Use"
Make sure you remove the area code out of your domain settings so it does not dial 10 or 11 digits
Make sure to have a 7 digit dial plan active that points to the pots adapter.

I am super excited right now because I strolled by snom's website and saw the new snom appliance.
It has 9 different configurations from POTS, PRI, T1 etc...
Any word on the MSRP or MAP? I have been calling my distributors and they are all at lunch...

If the voicemail in the email attachment is barely audible, there must be a gain problem with the PSTN. Can you try to increase the gain?
Maybe the phones compensate the low volume with the automatic gain control. But if the gain is too low on the PSTN trunk, then it is much better to fix it there.
I would have to agree with PBXNSIP, try the calls in through the sip trunk and see if the voicemail sounds normal. I would think the incoming gain on the phone lines need to be turned up. I have a sip trunk and all the voicemails are loud and clear from the inside phone and external calls coming in.
-
It was the case sensitivity of the file name. It should be fine now.
Confirmed, it works! Thank you.
Any word on the retail pricing for snomOne Green? Will snomONE Green support transfer on other sip devices? I only ask because a lot of my customers have a few non-snom phones and it would be good to incorporate their existing stuff into the system
-
You must upgrade to get the new counts of phones.
Please do this...
1. Follow the upgrade instructions on http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Upgrades
2. Start the PBX
3. Go to the license section, click on the middle button to view the license, delete the license and press save.
4. click - Evaluation copy
You should now have the new license.
Yellow and Blue Customers - You should have already received the new license automatically.
JAG
Thanks JAG!
When I went to get the file to do the automatic upgrade for CentOS5, the link is broken. Is there anyone that can fix this?
-
Jose,
If you really need softphones feel free to contact me via PM or email.
Matt
I was looking on snom's website today and it says there are now 5 non snom sip devices on the free version, 10 on yellow and 40 on blue. Do I have to upgrade my version to get this? How would I got about being a var for pbxnsip?
-
Sounded fishy because the GUI didn't match up and yea she was trying to sell me on it, didn't bite though, I explained I had to know the phone frontward and backward to be able to sell them to my customers. If I find supporting info I will post it.
-
You mean someone has loaded snom fw on yealink?!
I think i need an url to wipe away my disbelief.
Matt
I will work on that, my previous voip appliance provider was stating that was what Yealink was using for their firmware with a different GUI. I hope she didn't make me out to be a false information giver :/
-
Great idea, don't know how to do it but if yealink can use the snom firmware then it shouldn't be a big problem for someone else to figure it out.

What do you mean by "If no CNG tone, it lets it flow through" ???
I know the fax numbers that the PBX does not manage ... in theory, as well as in DID the pbx forward the call to a specific extension, i must to configure the PBX when on a incoming call on this number does not do anything ... but how can I do ??
thank
Ah, I am sorry I thought you had POTS lines being converted through the patton device. The Stick is a POTS line switchif you had an analog (POTS) line it would answer the line check for CNG (FAX) tone and either send it to the fax machine or the regular voice line if it did not have fax tone.

Hi,
i have a isdn line with 3 numbers connected with snom one through the patton 4554, but only one of those numbers is the voice number the other is connect to a fax machines, how can do to set up the pbx for not answer when a incoming call on the number of fax
thanks
Use "The Stick", it senses the CNG tone before it gets to the machine and diverts it to the fax machine. If no CNG tone, it lets it flow through.

Has anyone had problems with iCall Carrier Services coming back with temporarily unavailable on dialed numbers?
It seems to be happening to me about 1 out of 4 times and always on certain numbers. In the log it comes back as temporarily unavailable. I am using registration so I am wondering if I need to go to a fixed gateway with them.
-
loaded the beta and it is the same results. no tones when dialing and no ringing just silence. Even when the other end your calling answers there is dead air you can't hear or speak to the other person.
Have you double checked your firewall to make sure all the ports needed are open? I had a similar problem on centOS and figured out that I thought I saved the firewall (Which I didn't check until 8 hours of beating my head on the the proverbial wall) settings but didn't. After fixing the issue, all the phones worked just fine. May not work for you but I thought I would pass it along.
-
Is more information required to answer this question?
I procured snom hardware to be used with snom One free.
If my perception was wrong about the snom One free possibilities, than please inform me so I can return the hardware in time.
Thanks.
Regards,
Paul
Hi PaulP, have you edited the domain and made sure your accounts were higher than 30? I set mine to 500...
-
Maybe the blacklisting is too agressive in your setup. Increase the number of attempts and/or whitelist the IP address. Then it should not be the problem any more...
-SOLVED-
OK I figured it out, for some reason when I "saved" the firewall settings on CentOS5 it didn't actually save the settings, it went back to default.
I have attached a quick how to I made for setting up the firewall in centOS5, is that ok?
