  1. Hi Steve,

The Attendant Console must have a username/password configured (in the settings windows) that matches one already configured on the snomOne. Otherwise, you won't see a successful registration at the Attendant Console.

My extension and password match the PBX. My problem is I filled in the server part of the form by accident which always wants to auto provision the settings and I can't get rid of the server (not domain) setting. If I delete the server setting out of it, I can't save the settings. Is there a way to manually edit or delete the settings?

  2. I got it to run on my windows 7 machine after I installed the.net 4 framework. I cannot get it to register an extension because I put my PBX in under server and now it wants to auto provision instead of using the details I provide. Is there a way I can get rid of the server line, I try to delete it but it won't let me save? I could not find the settings file or I would have changed it there.

When I install it on the XP machine which already has .net Frame work, I get this error:

    EventType : clr20r3 P1 : attendantconsole.exe P2 : 1.0.0.0

    P3 : 4f91e78c P4 : attendantconsole P5 : 1.0.0.0 P6 : 4f91e78c

    P7 : c P8 : a P9 : system.windows.markup.xamlparse

Do I need to repair the framework?

I just looked at the wiki and XP is not supported, sorry about that.

  3. Hello support,

I see on the snomONE wiki that the attendant console software is available and the screenshots look great. When I load the software it installs but does not run. I assume it is because it skips over the licensing questions you show in the Installation instructions. When will we be able to get a license to run the console? Or am I missing something?

    Thank you,

    Venom

  4. Not sure what you are looking for. As I mentioned none of the emails are editable, generally.

Have you tried editing the an email that you received from someone else (other than PBX CDR)? You can edit only if you hit "reply" or "forward"

I think what he is saying is that he would like to be able to download the CDR's from the web interface in CSV format so that he can edit them in excel.

In addition to this, it would be nice to be able to search the CDRs or Browse by extension or phone number through the call log web interface. I have two customers that would liek to search the logs by extension to see if their guys are doing what they are supposed to without having to go line by line of the PBX call log or log into their extensions. Maybe this could be in the domain administrator screen to sort by extension or phone number. If this is already available, please send me a link to the wiki or something on it.

  5. Hi

What voip provider is good, i am using VOIP.MS, however they dont seem to be able to route voice calls to SNOM anymore, used to work for about 6 months, now it doesnt (its not a setup issue).

The line is VERY clear when its working, i can always make calls however now you get a "beep, beep, beep" like theres no number on the line when calling it.

Any suggestions of a nice provider i can use (not using Ring Central either, to expensive and doesnt work with real SIP).

Have you tried Nexsip.com? I have 4 accounts that use them and they have excellent pricing, not sure about Canada though.

  6. Currently the recording initiated by the user already go to the mailbox. I guess what we need would be the possibility to consider also the automatic recordings for that. Maybe the question for the automatic recording is not *if* we should record it, but into *which mailbox* we should record.

Then it might become useful that we ar eable to render something like "you have three-thousand-four-hundred-fifty-five new messages". Of course it will take some time to go through the recordings to find the one that you are looking for.

A very simple answer to that would be to use the automatic emailing of recorded messages, to get the message out of the PBX into the email system of the user.

I know it goes to he mailbox for you to log in from the web interface, but what about a Folder on the Voicemail system that could be for recordings. That way when a user calls their VM they can press "2" (Or a number combo *2 or something)and access the recordings VM folder. A delete all key would probably be a nice feature for this for when they are not concerned about the calls that day. I can make a Visio if that helps?

  7. DMZ?

Could you better define your use of the DMZ?

In my example the internal LAN is 192.168.100.X We could create a DMZ port on the Firewall and SET That IP as Range as 192.168.200.X

The External WAN interface of the Firewall has a single IP. I assume th Firewall Allow Rule and PInhole (port forward for 5060 goes to the DMZ address that is a seperate port on the firewall...)

The LAN phones register against that IP or FQDN....

    Your continued thoughts are appreciated..

    Thanks

In the DMZ settings on your firewall put the IP of your PBX (192.168.100.99) Make sure the SIP replacement is set as 192.168.100.99/23.23.23.50 (your example IPS).

Take the port forwards to the PBX out as everything goes to the PBX unless otherwise expected by the router.

To register a phone on the WAN to a DMZ I did this:

In my instance, I had a hard time auto provisioning this way because the auto provisioning uses the internal IP instead of the external IP (snom may have a way to work this that I am not familiar with). I worked around this by auto provisioning them on the LAN, then turned the updates off on the phone and changed the IP to the external IP of the router.

    I hope that helps.

  8. We have recently installed our first Soho for a client. To keep expenses low for our clients were are now wanting to support "single" static IP addresses and are putting he Soho behind firewalls.

I'd like to propose the following example for discussions...

    1. The Local LAN uses the following IP scheme 192.168.100.X (we've chosen this, since many remote phones may be on the common 192.168.1.0, 0.0 network and that might light result in issues. (It kills ipsec VPNs) and assume errors

The Firewall is providing all DHCP Services and can also Provide DNS services for specific domains or simply forwards requests to ISP DNS

(IE this can be used to create FQDN for phones internally like pbx.fqdndomain.com to point to 192.168.100.99 for the PBX internally while remote phones will see the pbx.fqdndomain.com as the real single static IP address..

    The PBX is on 192.168.100.99

The Public IP address is 23.23.23.50 (example)

The SIP carrier uses RTP port ranges 10000-30000

The PBX and the local Phones are working fine

We like Zyxel Firewalls, but others support SIP too, but we disable SIP ALG....

The problems we are having are one way audio

We've followed many tips and wiki posts, but we have no proven solution...

SIP replacements, and Routes appear to kill the local phones or the remote phones....

I'd sure be willing to donate whatever time or equipment is needed to come up with a proven Single Static IP address with a Firewall of choice, that reliably supports LAN and WAN phones....

My guess is this first failure is going to cost us the client, the time and the money spent to date, and having the client now request multiple IP addresses from the ISP is off the table...

Argg... and all comments or suggestions are welcome...

    Thanks...

I had issues with one way audio, until I put it in the DMZ.

  9. Hi,

I use the linux version 2011-4.3.5021 and there is no call displayed.

The default CDR listing size is 20

    The keep CRR duration 7d

The cdre directory contains the call files

The actives calls are correctly displayed

    Any Idea

    Thanks

Ubuntu has done this to me, have you updated the operating system lately? If not you may want to do so. I had a couple servers that would switch to write only after a generic cron request which would not allow the system to write. snomONE technically worked correctly for calls unless it saved a voicemail, call data record or sent an email then it would do nothing. On a reboot, everything worked fine. After the update, they seem to be staying up. It may not be your problem but you may check it out.

  10. Can you provide some details on the OS, previous version, if the working directory is different from the binary directory etc?

    Sorry, the PBX information is:

    OS: Debian

    Previous Version: Beta Corona

    Working directory: /usr/local/snomONE (default directory)

  11. I have tried updating through the web interface and this is as far as it gets:

I can download the file, does Beta Corona have an issue with updating?

  12. Hello all,

I have a customer that needs a feature for call recording that is not offered currently with snomONE but is available in Asterisk. This customer wants to be able to listen to the call recordings for an extension and an agent group from the voice mail system so that their customers can call their voice mail and listen to the call recordings. I have figured out the xml syntax to make a recording a voice mail but in order for the system to recognize the modified XML I have to restart pbxctrl. So my questions are as follows:

    1. Can this be implemented into snomONE through a form to make the recordings available to a certain extension? For instance a check box for recordings available in voice mail and a text box for the extensions voice mail it will go to.

    2. Is there a web command that can prompt a re-scan of the voice mail system or access to the xml files that show what voice mails are in the users mailbox. I searched through the snomONE folder without any luck on locating this file if it is there. This would allow us to make a script that changed the recordings to voice mail and activate them in the users voice mail.

    Thank you!

  13. Not really sure how and why, but it seemed to work for only 1 phone, so that cannot be it either.

We now upgraded the SnomONE to latest beta (103) and it worked with 8.4.35 also.

So problem 1 is solved, onsite PNp works

Now going to try over VPN with authentication

Not sure if I should put sipuser@pbx.company.com or just sipuser At least for now it seems not to work.

Phone and SnomONE do talk to eachother, but keep getting

    [5] 27/3/2012 05:41:33: Update: Fetching FW URL: 10.0.1.4:80//snom370/snom370-firmware.htm done, result 302

provisioning the M9 seems to work already, only wondering if I can assign a specific handset to an account, or that it will be assigned at random.

Aha, I have an older Soho I was having the problem with, so my problem is occurring with snomone 2011-4.3.0.5021 (Linux), Next time I am on site I will check it out to see if I can manually update to the new version and see if that fixes the problem.

  14. Hmm looks like a firmware issue in 8.4.35

Just tried 8.4.18 and it seemed to work (however also wanted to try a beta one and the got kinda mixed up, so I only briefly saw it become registered)

    Double checking now.

I noticed this behavior on a snom 300 with 8.4.35 on the same lan, I had to use the username/password provisioning like the phone was on a different network.

  15. this is a beautiful press release: http://www.snomchannel.com/voip-blog/snom-announces-latest-version-of-snom-one-ip-pbx-at-itexpo-booth-512/

    but...

What specifically does this mean: "Broad SIP client support: The snom ONE now supports mobile SIP clients, running on popular platforms such as Android and the iPhone."

we have a customer that wants to use a sip softphones.

    -will this work?

-is there sip refer support for softphone?

-do only andorid/iphone softphones works? or will pc softphones work?

-(please do not say to use the snom softphone---it is not realistically useable)

-how many softphone extensions can there be? is there a limit?

    thanks for the quick answers!

I tested transfer on a GXP2000 and it worked like a charm.

  16. Thanks for the feedback.

First of all, IMHO it was a major glitch to hardcode an IPv4 address on a device which is not a DHCP server. Making the device a DHCP server by default was another major lapse or reason, considering that customers might have already one running in their network! IPv6 has its charm when it comes to IP addresses that correspondent to the MAC address, do don't have to always wonder what IPv4 address the DHCP server assigned to you.

Right, when you set the IP address up statically, you also need to specify the DNS server. I consider that a "mainstream" requirement...

On the previous version of the SoHo we had to run another web server to offer the configuration frontend. That was not just another HTTP port (inconvenience), but it also means that there was a lot of additional software that had to be installed, and maintained. Thinking about security and looking at the news every day, that can keep us busy with software updates for the various packages. Instead we embedded it into the snom ONE web server now, so that you dont have to switch between the interfaces. Everything is done in JavaScript, so all we need to do is add the DNS server fields, and provide a JavaScript change with the next release without the need to change the code in the PBX itself.

I believe it is an endless job to provide all possible options for DHCP client, server, IPv4, IPv6, LLDP, VLAN, VPN client, VPN server, RADIUS, routing, and so on through the web interface. Linux has it all, and it is well documented. They way to use it in Linux (debian) is to log in on a text terminal, and we will not change that. We just want to make the mainstream admin tasks automated.

Cool, the DNS server field will be nice to have. I agree there is no reason for all the other things you can do through command, if you had all that in html it would clutter the already awesome interface snomONE has. Now if you could just get the PAC or WAC working, my customers would be ecstatic! :P

  17. I just installed a brand new SOHO, this is our fourth SOHO install. I was really surprised that the whole operation of getting to the PBX has changed. Instead of the way the first three worked with the main IP of 192.1685.255.25, it is now a IPV6 address. This was not a big deal because the new instructions were in the package but it would have been nice if there was a product announcement on the forum of changes to a product that we are used to installing. Did I miss this announcement?

The other issue I had was that you can set the IP, Subnet and Gateway for the SOHO through the PBX login but you have to SSH into the command line to set the name servers. This is a huge inconvenience, especially if you are in the field with a laptop without a terminal program. I had the program and new what to do but what about the average user/IT person that can't figure out why the system won't register to sip.provider.com...

Other than that it worked like a charm. :)

  18. Yes, snomONE has the tftp server built in.

The yellow/blue allows you to have non-snom phones on the system. Recently(http://wiki.snomone.com/index.php?title=Beta_Corona_Austrinids) we made some changes to the software that allows the plug and play of Polycom/Cisco/Aastra etc phones (like the good old pbxnsip days). But you have to update(not upgrade ;) ) your yellow or blue by contacting the Sales folks. If you send them your current key, they will update it so that you can use non-snom phones.

Does free still allow for 5 non snom phones?
