RichardDCG Posted March 28, 2022 Report Posted March 28, 2022 Hi, Is it possible to handoff calls between Windows and mobile apps (or from and to a desktop phone)? i.e. I take a call on my desk phone or Windows app and have to leave the office, can I simply pick up the call on my mobile app? I know I can transfer *52 to mobile, but I cant take the call back on the desk phone - if I take a call on my mobile app and want to pick it up on the desk phone. Once it has gone to mobile it remains there ... it also generates an outbound chargeable call. Ideally I would like to be able to seamlessly pickup and move calls (on the same extension) on any phone - iOS, Windows and desk. Quote
Vodia PBX Posted March 28, 2022 Report Posted March 28, 2022 Hmm my only idea would be to park and then retrieve the call. Quote
RichardDCG Posted March 28, 2022 Author Report Posted March 28, 2022 I had thought about parking, but it could mean having a lot of park bays and knowing which one you parked your call on (if a lot of people use it - Real Estate etc. that are always in and out of the office..)? Could there be a star code that would hold the call internally and then retrieve it back on whatever device you then used? Quote
Vodia PBX Posted March 29, 2022 Report Posted March 29, 2022 Well a few public park orbits would probably be fine and everyone can use them e.g. for that purpose. Sharing held calls with all registered devices would be a proper solution but does not work with standard SIP devices. We shall see how common this request is and if it deserves coding something. RichardDCG Posted March 30, 2022 Author Report Posted March 30, 2022 Thanks. The problem with park orbits is that the mobile app does not see them. You would need to know the orbit number? It is something I noticed Dialpad offers and it looked like a handy option... https://help.dialpad.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000032706-Switch-a-Call-Between-Devices Quote
Vodia PBX Posted March 30, 2022 Report Posted March 30, 2022 That might be a good reason to add park orbits to the mobile apps! Star codes still work, but are indeed clunky. Quote
RichardDCG Posted April 5, 2022 Author Report Posted April 5, 2022 Having a lot of park orbits could be difficult to use with a mobile app? I was thinking along the lines of a code to system hold/unhold the call specific to the extension - i.e. every extension can take a call, dial *xx to hold then dial *xx on another device (same extension) to resume the call. But I have no idea what is possible etc. to accomplish. Quote
RichardDCG Posted August 15, 2022 Author Report Posted August 15, 2022 is this achievable? If I take a call in the office on my Windows app and I need to go somewhere and continue the call, it would be good to be able to simply pick it up on the mobile app... Quote
Vodia PBX Posted August 15, 2022 Report Posted August 15, 2022 You can pick up the call from your mobile app to your desktop app using an icon. It might also work the other way for Android (not for iOS yet). We do have the codes *52 and *53, however they were designed to work with GSM and not the app. Quote
RichardDCG Posted August 15, 2022 Author Report Posted August 15, 2022 what icon? I answered on my mobile app and there was no indication of the call anywhere on the Windows app. Quote
Vodia Support EU Posted August 16, 2022 Report Posted August 16, 2022 For example, you can put the active call on hold and then you will find a curved arrow in the other app (e.g. Mobile App) in Calls. The call can then be taken over with this arrow. As already described, this arrow is also available under "Calls" in the Mobile App. However, the app must be in "Web Browser" mode. Please try this function. So please always look for this curved arrow. Quote
RichardDCG Posted August 16, 2022 Author Report Posted August 16, 2022 That works. The Windows app has the curved arrow, I can select that to take the call. I can also then take the call back on the iphone app by dialing *87etx. ..... any chance to have a similar arrow on the mobile app? Quote
Vodia Support EU Posted August 17, 2022 Report Posted August 17, 2022 "e.g. Mobile App) in Calls", yes there you will find the arrow (in any case it works in the Android app). Quote
