REMOTE PHONE WONT REGISTER

for some reason i am getting the following error when trying to provision the phone remotely!!

For remote devices, you usually have to use HTTP because TFTP is not a very NAT-friendly protocol. See http://wiki.pbxnsip.com/index.php/Polycom#...ng_Provisioning on how to do that.

this error is normal, i though. if that bootrom already exists on the polycom it will cancel the download. so it doesnt need to download it.

 

if you are at the location of the remote user open a DOS prompt and try to tftp the file to your laptop. this will tell if it its a NAT problem.

Hi how do i do that?

 

is the problem with NAT on the remote phones end or on the Phone System end?

 

please advise asap as i am going out of the country this week and need this to be working before i leave!

Did you check what is set as the outbound proxy on the Polycom phone? (Maybe it is set to 'localhost')

if you are using PNP configuration from pbxnsip... do not set your domain to localhost.

 

set it to the Internal/External IP of the PBX.. If you are using PNP configuration and the PBX is on an internal IP you will have to go to the WEB page of the phone and configure it manually for the External IP for all remote IP Phones.

 

It would be nice if pbxnsip had a field to specifiy if the phone is internal or external to properly build the PNP tftp files... :)

Nono. The PBX must find that out automatically, and it is possible. The routing table of the PBX make that possible.

 

I believe in this current case there must be something wrong with the setup. We are trying to get a login and find out what the problem is.
